Recently started watching Gurren Lagann again. Absolutely awesome - can't believe how many years since I first watched it. Shame the subs I found online aren't as good as they once were.

Also sup everyone.

I just finished Gurren Lagann some days ago. Great stuff.

I've been watching a ton lately. Finished Hunter x Hunter 2011 (fantastic), Akame ga Kill!, Btooom!, Accel World, I watched all Fairy Tale episodes, Catching up on Jo Jo's, watching SAO II. Oh yeah I also finished FMA:B a long while ago and it was a LOT better than the '03 version. Watched about 14 Gintama episodes; it's pretty funny.

Gave Bleach a shot and watched three episodes; that was enough for a lifetime, thanks. On the flipside, Currently giving One Piece a shot, and it really isn't that bad. On ep15 out of six-hundred-and-something. Enjoying it so far.

Has no one here heard of Hiyao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films? These are the quintessential anime of our time imho.

See:

Ponyo
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle
The Secret World of Arietty
My Neighbor Totoro
Kiki's Delivery Service
Princess Monoke

These are Modern classics

Hiyao Miyazaki's basically mainstream dude. Even if you've not heard of him, seen any of his films or his studio, you're bound to recognise his movie titles or at least characters like Totoro.

My favourite films by Miyazaki are easily Porco Rosso and his adaptation of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
The former is what I consider to be his best but not his most defining which I think is My Neighbour Tororo.
The latter on the other hand is not only extremely entertaining, but its impact on the animation industry was important and kick-started the careers of many talented animators (including Miyazaki's famous protege; Hideaki Anno, of Gunbuster and Neon Genesis Evangelion fame). While Nausicaä may be an adaptation it is easily next to most influential anime in the last 30 years to the industry itself, as NGE is to fans and Akira is to the western hemisphere.

While the next two people I mention are no-where on the same level as Miyazaki for their achievements, Satoshi Kon and Mamoru Hosoda are wonderful anime film directors and animators. I really recommend Paprika and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

I recently saw Paprika and The Girl Who Leapt Thru Time on Youtube and they're amazingly trippy. I want Paprika in hi def for sure.

The other day I watched a random anime on youtube called Summer Days with Coo that was really awesome.

Death Note is very good. You'll also like Attack on Titan Danny m8. Also, if you're watching Anime, watch is sub; the original voice acting is so much better than dub.

In other news, new Akame today. Totally saw this death coming (already revealed in the manga anyway).

I finally got around to making a MAL @ http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Xenzu

Welp, I'm going full Otaku, and also have been watching a lot of Ecchi. Finished Kiss X Sis (which I loved, also, awesome credit music btw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J4fKj8P9WI ), and was disappointed that Yosuga no Sora is drastically slower paced. Watching B Gata as soon I'm I'm done that.

If you like SAO, check out Log Horizon (which is a lot better/portrays the Video Game Reality concept better imo).

Also, another one you'll probably like a lot is "Fate/Zero" (watch first) and "Fate/Stay Night" (Unlimited Bladeworks Version). It's some pretty good stuff, although Fate/Zero is more about the better story, and "Fate/Stay Night" is more about the Effects and Visuals (don't get me wrong, Fate/Zero still looks incredibly good and both are made by the same studio 'Ufotable').

HERES A LITTLE TASTE
