Viewing models in UnrealEd 2

home / Knowledge Base / Mapping / Viewing models in UnrealEd 2

As you may know, there are two editors for Deus Ex available: UnrealEd 1 also known as SDK (Software Development Kit) and UnrealEd 2, which was ported by Jim from dxediting.com, from another game, Unreal Tournament. Since Unreal Tournament uses a bit newer engine than Deus Ex and in particular, newer standard for models, it's editor UnrealEd 2 doesn't support the older model standard of Deus Ex. That is why in UnrealEd 2 you can't see Deus Ex models.

The solution appeared suddenly in November 2006, when a Russian Deus Ex modder Andrievskaya Veronika converted all Deus Ex models to UnrealEd 2 standard. You can grab her patch with the latest updates from the topic on our Forum.
