"I can't see any servers - Slim Deus Ex install"home / Knowledge Base / Troubleshooting / "I can't see any servers - Slim Deus Ex install"Firstly, this will only apply if you downloaded a slim version of Deus Ex from a third party website. These can be useful in a way, they are stripped of core files and leave only Multiplayer functioning correctly. However, some like to try and steal players from the default Master Server by altering your DeusEx.ini, and directing you to a custom Master Server. The master server in question, master.dxmp.net, is no longer functioning, so you will not see any servers. We can fix this easily however: Firstly, go to C:DeusEx:System - Then open your DeusEx.ini:
And search for this: [DeusEx.MenuScreenJoinGame] Below it, if you are using DXMP.net version, you will see: MasterServerAddress=master.dxmp.net This is false, change it to the following: MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com Now it should look like:
[DeusEx.MenuScreenJoinGame] Press Save, and close the .ini. Attempt to load Deus Ex and check if you can see any servers, if not, this is not the problem, consult forum techinical support. | |||||||||
