About ArxGenus

Although regarded as a multiplayer modification, the concept of creating a reason, a logic and a history for ArxGenus has occured to me. The following is a mix of concept and a singleplayer storyline narrative.

The Story

"When motherhood becomes the fruit of a deep yearning, not the result of ignorance or accident, its children will become a new race." - Margaret Sanger

The dominance of American society over the past centuries, has caused the world's eyes to all focus on incidents involving said country.

Thus the cause and affects of the situations evoked through the story of Deus Ex, decided the international communities minds to be fixed on the eruption of Augmentation projects, the Grey Death and finally a large computer based communication break-down.

But the involvement of other countries in the general arena of such topics, have fallen behind the shadow of the USA. The USA, however, is responsible for one such augmentation project which was implemented in the unfortunate "brother in NATO arms", the United Kingdom.

The development of Augmentation projects is a relatively new undertaking. New projects require complete range testing and fine tuning. One emphasis on Augmentations, in particular, the "acquisition" of Augmentations, was to test out a new method in retro-fitting human-beings with these super human components.

The UK was approached with another angle of this "acquisition", Genetic level Augmentation development.

Thus was the pre-concepted begginings of what is now known as "The Genus Project".

An adminstration sub-group of MJ12, (known as ArxUK), was assigned to the capital city, London, to maintain a group of local geniuses in the effort of the project. Only the top researchers, loyal to Bob Page and his hierarchy, would have full access to the exact purpose of Genus.

It was therefore the role of ArxUK to provide a high level of security for the project, and also to supply the funds and "inventory" needed for the scientists to do their job.

The inventory dictated an interesting obstacle. It was very certain that testing on human beings of a standard age and par structural-tone was going to be a high requirement. Unfortunately criminal means and keeping complete secrecy in matters of abduction was a difficult and costly process.

ArxUK estimated that to provide a service of acquiring test-subjects for the project meant that at most a total of 8 subjects, (give or take), would be possible without the gain of suspicion.

More to come — stay tuned!
