i believe anybody who destroys someone else's property, given that this act is not in the interest of the law (anti terrorist attacks, etc) or what not, should be put away.
alex may think he is the good guy, but you see, good guy does not help lady across the crossing every morning or bring coffee to his friends, and then fucks some car up with a baseball bat on his way home. such good guy will have to pay for this action, and not only for the worth of the car repairs, but also the court fee. And he is lucky that only the cost of repairs is demanded in such case.
And HDD is not a car, not a sportscar, but a safebox of passcodes, documents, different private items. Perhaps even money.
as for street smarts: there is always a bigger nוgger to drop the soap. ftw that street smart.
