Why are people bitching about the price of a PS3? $600 roughly seems a pretty sound price for it.

Count your blessings you're not in the EU, 599 USD converted to GBP is currently £300 (thank you Vista). So why are good Britons paying more? I thought we were pretty high up in the hierarchy. Import purposes? Electrical issues? Or do they just hate us?

If you come from, say the Netherlands tell us the price in your local currency.

Europe gets the shaft on everything. But you should see Japan prices, it's around £13 for a brand new 360 game (they region lock them to be utter fuckwads) and around £120 for a premium 360.

Exactly, there's Sony moaning "we're losing $300 per PS3 " well maybe if you'd stop give them to Japan then you would be able to level the field!

I agree with the both of you. But who in their right mind would throw away 600.00 bucks on a shit system? I wouldn't. Especially 799.00!

In all fairness it's not a shit system for single player titles and online SERVICES, just so long you stay away from multi-format titles.

$600? Fuck you guys. It's twice that price in New Zealand - course, we are like technologically challenged. Mainly cause our Government sucks cock.

Converted NZ dollars means it only costs an extra £40 over there.

In the rate their going thats going to be a while. In the next couple of months there will be like 2 or 3 games coming exclusively for the ps3. If I bought a PS3, it would purely be for MGS. PS3 seems to consist of Racing and Sport games, which arn't my faviorates to be honest..

Well, it's become a cut-throat industry, and with Linux making OS's for PS3, the clash of game consoles into computers is inevitable.

Gears of War nearly did it for 360.

99% of the target audience knows what it is.

Everyone knows about Wii Sport and Legend of Zelda, now if they could do the same with Super Smahs Brothers Brawl and Fire Emblem...

That is a lot of money to some people. Myself for example (in the process of finding a job) can't afford a PS3 yet!
