If you haven't read the news, I recommend you take a look before proceeding.

Tinley Park is actually very close to where I live, about a 10 minute drive. The place is usually quiet and peaceful, I've been to it many times and actually have a few friends who live there as well as job associates.

Now, Lane Bryant is a quiet store, especially in the mornings. Its clothes are generally aimed at women, usually mature. Thing is, the perpetrator picked the right time and right spot to do this crime.

Apparently it was a "robbery gone bad." I disagree, because you don't go to a store, have 5 women line up Nazi execution-style, shoot them in the neck, then leave without taking any money.

Which leaves me to question his purpose. This rant is not aimed at perpetrators in general, but perpetrators without any purpose and without necessity to kill but they do it anyways. Why would one just walk into a store, murder a few people, then walk out with no one knowing until an hour later?

It is a really pointless thing, which makes me question: perhaps he did it for himself, or maybe he has something race-involved (but two of the women were African American, so that rules it out.) Cult initiation? Revenge? Or just for the hell of it?

I can't really find a solution.

He has not been found yet, but there was one survivor who described him to the police.

In short, its selfish self-destruction. Things not going your way and you're in insanity?, go kill a few people and pretend everything is okay.

Its stealing of the highest form, anyone who kills innocents like that for no reason or gain what to ever deserve to die themselves slowly.

Here in UK murdurers get like 5 years in jail! :shock:

theres salot of fucked up people out there. any mudurers should get death row. they dont do it in uk/

I feel sorry for these women, but if your country insists on the continued freedom to carry firearms then this will happen again and again.

Ye sure we have nutters in the UK, but they send sherbert in the post to lawyers saying its anthrax. Carrying guns is plain dumb, here you would be given a 5 year prison sentence just for the possesion of one!

And Maxtor01, I can assure you that if you murdered someone here in the UK, you might find yourself in high security prison for a lot longer than 5 years!

murder = at least 1 lifetime jail here...

Belgium lifetime = 25 year

they mostly give out 2x lifetime to a murderer.

they should give those the chair.

Death sentence is an easy way out. 50 years in Strangeways High security prison (manchester) is far worse a sentence than death, believe me.

Murderers get 30 years (What they call life) I believe.

What about those that haven't actually done anything? Rare cases become statistics, statistics become demonstrations, demonstrations and other politicians bid to remove death row and you're back where you started.

Serial killers should get exported to a Foreign prison. Like Cuba. See how many crimes they commit after that.

If you have a death sentence for murderers, you have no negotiation powers. The perputrator will do anything to get away since nothing worse can happen to them. This leads to multiple murders etc. It's more important to save the lives of as many innocents as possible than to get "revenge" on a killer.
Also, if the criminal is insane etc., it could be a much worse fate to spend the rest of your life in prison than to be excecuted.

The ideology of the serial killer is something I cannot understand, nor will I want to. I am a firm believer in swift justice but this case just... baffles me.

I hope he gets caught. Someone with a sane mind cannot do that and just walk away like nothing happened, he will have to accept his consequences sooner or later. I hope he realizes the magnitude of his actions.

It would decrease crime for a while, but that doesn't stop people from using knives or other weapons, like in the UK.

But on a serious note, the NIU shootings were messed up. Illinois is not being in a good light as of late.

If we allowed gun-carrying on campus for all students, imagine what would've happened at NIU:

Guy comes up on stage, takes out his shotgun, before he sees everyone in their seats stands up aiming their red-dot-laser-P90s and AK47s at him and tear him to shreds.

But then again eventually they will all shoot each other, college campus will turn into Shipment.
