Damn you Martyrdom!! (Call of Duty 4) you were prewarned...

Postby Tantalus » Tue Mar 11, 08 9:31 pm

I am at my wit's end with the CoD 4 perk Martyrdom. It seems Infinity Ward are rewarding players for dying; pathetic. If you want to lob a grenade before you die, do it will I'm hunting your arse, not when I'm on top of you!

That has successfully got my K/D Ratio from 1.1 (crap, I know) to 0.87.

Especially on Vacant. Jesus Christ Carpenter!

I can accept Juggernaut and Last Stand but come on! Imagine releasing flatulence in an elevator (or lift) with an area of two metres squared and five strangers nearby....welcome to "martyrdom".

Does anyone else feel the same way?

No not really. Almost everytime I kill someone who Martydoms I pick up the grenade and throw it at another enemy.

Hot Potato challenge completed ftw.

After the 2nd time I died I realised either A) If I'm close enough, throw the damn nade.

or B)
Don't walk over the damn body afterward.

there is no reason to complain about that perk. it is easy to avoid.

if you are going to complain about a perk, choose juggernaut.

What the fuck is a tweekball weapon?

Are you those people who cry if they get shot with something they don't like?

It's boring!

Image

It has no real objects but kill, unlike an objective game such as Wolfenstein. Perhaps it has those "Other" game types, but people just play them for EXP!

Just my opinion!

Oh no <_<.

Well, I just prefer a game where you escort a tank, build fortifications, have vehicles etc.

Never played it.

Wolfenstein, Battle Field (Sometimes...), but I also play a lot of Stratergy Games, i.e new Dawn of War, C&C, Rome Total War, etc.

Quake Wars is your ideal game.

Building shit, escorting shit, and driving shit, usually all in one map.
I play alot of ET though, prefer it.
I am downloading it right now for this PC :)

However, COD4 S&D is where most players end up after hitting 55.

Headquarters mode has more fun than any gamemode I have ever played except Dystopia. Even it's just to hear the Insurgent Voice over shout "HEADQUARTERS LOCATED".

The reason I get frustrated is simply because I am usually a matter of feet away from the opponent, my gameplay style .

I have really got to pick up a sniper rifle!

Isn't tweekball the weapons that people must absolutely add attachments to use?

In which case, I wholeheartedly agree that the M14 must have some kind of aiming system, sights are HORRIBLE.

Martyrdom can be so satisfying for those faggots who creep up behind you and knife you. BOOM.

Martyrdom is cheap though, I don't care because it is easy to avoid but retards on my team cant, even when they beat the retard who couldn't kill with a firearm yet life depends on a grenade that spawns on his bum when he dies.

I'd say last stand requires more skill simply because you're still aiming, but martyrdom is still more effecient. I just knife everyone so it annoyes me sometimes lol.

I get 70% of my headshot challenges from people who use last stand. So in a sense those clowns are helping me out.

lol @ this one kid who's perks were RPG, Dead silence, and Martydom with a sniper class.

I swear, people can't put proper perks together with their classes for shit.

COD4 needs more knife challenges.

I have 600 knife kills now but nothing extra to show for it :(

If they remove martyrdom it would be like the beta, amazing. I miss the usefulness of the knife as a primary weapon.

However, if it did go back to the beta we'd be left with an M4 Carbine that could destroy a helicopter in a matter of seconds.

I love knife kills but they need to fine-tune it slightly so it doesn't veer off target and shiv the nearest wall, making you look like an arrogant Sam Fisher.
