Apple is great for design and innovation

Microsoft is great because of their OS that supports a wide range of hardware and software. After using 7, innovation is starting to look up for microsoft.

Remember the orgasms people had when so came out?! Well same goes for 7. I sure love it.

People use Mac's alot in graphic design, and the only reason I've found out why is because the Mac platform is so much cleaner and easier to use and more intuitive than Windows. I can't say if this is true, I've never used a modern-day Mac but personally, I wouldn't switch for that reason.

Some person even said, which I thought was really stupid, that Mac's will run Photoshop better than Windows so long "as it has enough ram", what the hell is the point in said statement? Same goes for any bloody OS that can run Photoshop. You shove enough RAM and CPU power into it it's gonna run nice and dandy.

My only problem with a Mac, is that because a lot of people use it in graphic design (lots of the designers at my Polytech use Macs and we also have a suite full of the things) I'm going to have to conform to using it too. That'll be a bitch.

Ironically, Mac runs Photoshop 10-20% slower than Vista. The problem is not due to the platform but Adobe, which didn't optimize Photoshop properly for it.

You shove enough RAM and CPU power into it it's gonna run nice and dandy.

I think those people meant that Mac OS X supports 64 bit applications, that means that they can use more than 4 GB of RAM. Most commonly used Vista — 32 bit — supports only up to 4 GB of RAM.

In seriousness, everything Apple does is for comfort of the user (and user can't fuck up anything because he's not allowed to touch any of the inner workings). Apply things look shiny.
Majority of opensource commonities like Linux developers do is to give user maximum controll, letting them customise every aspect of functionality and inner workings. They give power, but only to those who have a good idea what they're doing.
Microsoft stays middle ground between functionality and ease of use. Windows can do much more than Apple's Macintosh or OS-X (and Iphone is an OS-X (sort of like a mac)), while being understandable by all users, not just "people who know what they're doing" of Unix/Linux systems.

I use Iphone because it's a phone that has a browser and wi-fi, and with some hacking I play pc version of Quake on it (not 2d scroller, an FPS ). Well mostly cause it's handy for porn and wikipedia. Oh and Ipod feature helps alot.
I use Windows because I'm a gamer, but also because I'm not a computer illiterate person who can't figure out what "file cannot be read" means. I'm not a professional system admin though, so I don't use Linux. I simply can't figure out what I'm supposed to do there.

Apple wins where the only thing to worry about is user comfort. Microsoft makes not-so-pretty but functional things other people care to work on.

Many designers, programmers, system administrators choose Mac for their professional activity as well. Unlike Linux, it's a mature system which doesn't have any problems with a choice of software available for it, and drivers.

Additionally, Mac OS X is a Unix system, thereby it allows almost the same level of configurability as in any Linux system.
