Sorry no punchlines, serious question. And more importantly, how the fuck do they occur?

I had one today, and it scared the shit out of me, I must have been pretty fucking out of it because when I came to the girl next to me was hugging me.

Apparantly my eyes were really dilated and my arm kept shaking. Had the same nightmare last night attempting to sleep.

Probably won't happen again, but anyone else had this occur?

Were you concious or half asleep when you had this nightmare?

Yep. Kept seeing visions of my death in increasingly gruesome ways while staring off into the middle distance during class, eventually passing out cold. Disturbing shit, that.

That is exactly what happened to me, I don't know if you would call what I did passing out but I definitely don't remember her hugging me.

I was not aware of myself or my surroundings. So probably leaning towards half asleep.
