In other words, the reason I think its social insulation is because rarely do I ever find anyone who is actually deeper in conversing with you when they're inebriated. In places like Ireland, where drinking is just a culture thing, and no one gives a shit about it, it's chill. But everywhere else, it's treated like a commodity.

Also, people around here who drink, can't shut the fuck up about it just drink. They have to make entire dialogues about how drunk they are after half a bottle of Coors Lite. Is it just me or is that GAY

Some people fucking catalog everything they drink or did drink on another night of drinking. Some people even make threads about them on forums on the internet.

Same counts to smoking in my eyes.

Tended to just be whenever there was a party, but now uni has increased my volume somewhat.

Night out, pub quiz, even a night in with my flatmates tends to end up even in at least a drink or two.

I used to prefer cider to lager, but now cant stand cider (except old rosie) Carlsberg Export all the way.

Or asahi dry, they may be crazy, but those japs make good beer.

I live in Canada, but me parents were born in Ireland... There's quite some drinking in my household.. However, I'll occasionally have a beer just in conversation or hanging out with people. But the majority of my drinking is at parties (2 or 3 times a month), and even then, I preffer liquor. Tastes better then beer, and If it's on of those "get drunk" situation it certainly does the trick. I've tried alot of kinds, but I preffer Brut d'alambic absinth (my girlfriend's friend snuck a bottle back from switzerland as they were visiting family), as well as vanilla smirnoff (works wonders with coke).

I drink quite a lot, but as far as quantities go, not that much. My body isnt that tolerant towards alcohol. As a result I dont get hangovers that last longer than an hour or throw up longer than couple minutes or couple times. So with all this in mind I do get mad drunk and I do get blackouts, but overall I dont spend next day regretting
