Well then write a decent post as opposed to a pointless one not worth reading, and then not entering into any sort of meaningful discussion.

And yes it may well be someone's own personal journal but it's on a forum which - while populated with a minority of serious, intellectual individuals - is also littered with some of the most random stuff I have ever seen in my life. And sarcasm doesn't really "go over" too well via the internet, DJ.

Wasn't trying to cause an argument just thinking to myself why post something like that, give some sort of cryptic clue and then leave it? If this is a serious post, at least make it worthwhile. The internet is a medium of sharing, why goto the effort of posting something if you're not gonna share?

Before being a muslim I was just agnostic (meaning I believed there was a god, but not to know his name or whether he actually created a religion)

No, I'll keep my name. I did think about changing it though.

No-one got me into it, I have muslim friends that I would ask questions to, but they didn't prod me toward it at all. They'd just answer my questions.

I know A LITTLE about Islam because I helped my ex girlfriend with a few essays for her religion and theological studies degree, but not much at all.

I personally don't wanna start a pro/con muslim thing, that's inappropriate, but I must say this (and sorry to steal your limelight Protocol). Firstly personally I don't subscribe to Dawkins' anything. And I'm probably leaning more towards Atheist than Agnostic, but I do believe simply that everything APPEARS TO ME to be too intricate and just... well I do sit and ponder sometimes how wonderful life itself is and how it all came into being. The scientist (well failed scientist) in me doesn't allow me to believe in organised religion. Anyway... Islam is, to my knowledge, a wholesome and extremely gratifying way of life for millions of people. And I do happen to know about Jihad being "the struggle" (and mission to "keep the faith" sorta thing, I know I'm dumbing this down too much)...

....I just wanna say for all those who are prejudiced against Islam research it.

Although I don't like the bit about beating your wife. Can't remember which sura or I'd link it.
