As much as I enjoyed used MegaUpload for both pirated and legitimate files, there is no doubt in my mind that they profited from piracy and knew it. Out of the people who pay for a premium subscription, how many do you think payed with the intention of having unmetered access to completely legitimate downloads?

All "Mega" sites are shut down due to it, including Megavideo and *Gasp* Megaporn. In all honesty I think it's quite retarded and the US has far too much power. I mean, these people are not even based in the US nor are their servers.

I find it obscene too because they're sorta active in shutting down most of the pirated content on their websites. What stops them from taking down Rapidshare or (please no) Mediafire?
