Deus Ex Alpha

There we have it, a rant post for the major source causing the destruction of Deus Ex.

Let me start off.

GODZ, as you know, is a server on DXMP. It is widely popular with today's noobies and nubs, along with some mixed variation of the same people who take cocaine and other dangerous drugs and play the game. It is a server fairly populated 24/7. In fact, GODZ even steals most servers. Wonder why every time you try and host a server and nobody goes in for a long time? They and their friends are playing at GODZ.

GODZ was also a newbie clan if I remember correctly. It was merely a joke clan, to spot and recruit anyone who wishes to join, ignoring their skills and attitude. It is long dead now, I think, but its essence lives on in DXMP today. GODZ, the clan and the server, was the major source of why we have stupid people today in DXMP.

Although there are other causes to this, such as they were born that way and simply played here. Although most DXers would cuss in any server regardless of consequences and for really stupid reasons, I would estimate about 74% of them come from GODZ and/or favor GODZ than any other server.

Don't get me wrong, going into GODZ is not a criminal penalty. It is merely a joke server to me, to influence the youngly-skilled players of DX to some sick, cruel disposition. However, a mere joke of a server gradually became a serious situation. You may just tell me to ignore the bad players, but it can grow to a serious situation, such as death threats, and threats to come into their location and injure and/or kill them.

GODZ has become a seriously bad influence for most people, including myself. It has absolutely rubbish maps comprised of piracy and lack of effort put into most of them. They are very weak. How did noobs become influenced of this server and not others you ask? Simply because GODZ is the first server on the serverlist today. It is run nearly 24/7 and is sometimes falsely restricted due to "construction". I ask you, how can you "construct" a server?

GODZ has very stubborn and arrogant players, some of which worship GODZ. I seriously don't see how you could, it's a crappy server with crappy maps and crappy attitudes. I dislike GODZ because it is the main form of obstruction to nice attitude neophytes today. It has caused very bad influences and even wrongly bans.

GODZ NoChanc is an absolute tyrant. He justifies his reason of banning by making up false programs such as "GODZIPSCAN" or somewhat. What irritates me is that he has gained the support of the GODZ players today, nearly 64% of DXMP. Why, he could make an absolutely ridiculous statement such as "birds can't fly" and his believers would agree with him.

I give this to you in conclusion: whenever your bored and you can't find a server, don't go to GODZ, don't play at all.

I haven't played GODZ server for months, while i enjoyed it before the appearance of "realistic" rifle. I really hate the idea of such rifle, which kills an enemy after a single shot to body, thus it's the most powerful weapon on the server. The main problem about it is that it gives a giant advantage to American and Canadian players upon the rest, including me. With my ping sniping is based purely on guess because opponent on my screen is actually what was his position about 2 seconds ago. Appearance of this "realistic" sniper rifle made the problem critical, because normally i could avoid one-shot deaths and get into a close range fight which is easier. Not to mention the fact that an amount of close range battles has vastly decreased, and this is sad, because close range battles is one of a few things in the multiplayer version of the game which attracts me very much, it differs the game from the rest of games.
NoChance is a patriot... what else can i say. Also it is all about lack of experience in the game. I suppose he has been always a hoster and a leader of his clan but never a fighter.
Before this invention i liked the server and I was spending a lot more time, than even on European servers. The server itself is very good. It's the first server where 16-18 players could play together with minimal lag. I preferred to play GODZ with 340 ping rather than with 160 on GamesMajor but with british folks who own the rest with their 50-70.
However there are a lot of people who enjoy NC's server, therefore NoChance's deed is not pointless, therefore he contributes in existence of this community too. He hosts a decent 24-7 server and its a hard and expensive job. Only a few people in the community have arranged to do that.
Maps... his maps aren't beautiful, but this aint showing that a mapper is unexperienced. Detail in multiplayer isn't a very important factor - we simply don't pay attention to it (look at ZeroPresence's maps... awesome detail, but noone have ever played them unfortunately). Mapper of GODZ maps has found "a golden middle" between atmosphere and the size of the map. However, they have a serios lack of balance somewhere.
What about players who play there... i don't care. I don't care what do they say, what do they think. They're just a bunch of players, team mates and enemies for me. And to say truth, other "corners" of the community aren't better. Just in this "corner" they got used to express that crap they think while playing.
I'm talking about a "crowd". I don't mean anyone who browse this forum for sure...
If we talk about GODZ as a community, i'd say, i like it. I haven't participated on their forum that much, I don't know them good, but they always seemed very intellectual, smart and kind for me. Jim Bowen (i cannot forget how bravely he was helping me in UnrealScript, phpBB, SSH and other stuff), Nobody (yes, he is [A] but he was [GODZ] for a long time), Chococat, Stevie and others. They're not a clan, they're a community. At least, thats how it seems to me so far. Unfortunately they may be a bit too far from Deus Ex, however the contributed into it a lot... I'm not talking only about "material" aspect like mods and hosting a server.

whenever i get bored and due to the time i can't go out i have two options :
1 i go to godz
2 i make homework

i still prefer playing on godz than making homework since i hate school like hell

then i am the other side of u ^^

huh...well seing as Dea isn't recruiting, I'll try my own clan...again, anyways I'd be honored to form an alliance with [A]lpha and it's members despite my snide words and personal feelings toward it's troops, RPG members, and all else whom are affiliated with [A]lpha.

He is a simpleton, he thinks he can bring back DX, he is in fact destroying it, and he thinks GODZ is superior in DXMP.

My intuition murmurs me that if someone hosted another American 24 / 7 server on a nice computer, decent connection/location and with a interesting set of maps, it would steal at least 1/3, maybe 2/3 of all GODZ players.

However, it really requires 24/7 and months of hosting. Usually it happens like this: some dude decides to host a 24/7 server, hosts it for a week, checks log and sees that overally like 3 players have entered this server... by mistake probably. In most cases, the hoster would conclude that Deus Ex is a dead game, or something like that, and he would quit hosting at all forever, because he doesn't know that it must take some time (a few months) before visitors get used to the server.

Then the server hoster can easily change their mentality

Exactly! I played there once in a while as the ping there was quite challenging and the server was packed. Now these modded weapons are absolute bs. I asked about that from nochanc and he replied that the one shot sniper is awsome way to render cheaters useless. I cant really understand how but the modded weapons are just sad. I am going to have a chat with him regarding this subject. Just to understand his ideas and see if he would actually do something else that would help new players.

I used to play there, love the sniping practise I get there, though the jump height was somewhat altered so I couldnt always adapt to other server's normal jump height. But it was fun there

GODZ are gay, but, there's no way to shut them down. They are a newb machine. Auggers are becoming a dying breed, hw can a clan with a name like [GODZ] make it anyway!?! It's not even proper fucking english.

I suppose if we challenge them too a clanwar and make sure that if they win we shut up, if we win they close down.
high stakes for them, we still have our troubs though, if we challenge them to that high stakes of a clan war they'll start recruiting and fast I bet they'll put it on opening messages and recruiters will be everywhere...
anyways i hope we can just end the entire damn thing, because in my opinion [A] is the second superior power either though the [A] server is barely ever up.

Even if the server closed down, the noob population would still exist, but would instead flock to other servers, servers you might actually enter. GODZServer isn't that bad, it's been around for a long time, why should it stop now just because you want it to? And you say GODZ server sucks, but it's not different enough from other servers for you to hate it so much, I mean, you're just killing people anyway, so whats the big deal? Sure, there are a few crappy maps and noobs with HE, but it doesn't happen enoug hfro you to hate the server so much or to stop you enjoying yourself there once in a while. So you don't like the custom maps? Don't play there when those maps are on then! Quit your silly bitching, no one is forcing you to enter the server, it's your choice, theres bound to be other populated servers.

And Mike, you are a small minded fool, why would GODZ shut down just because someone tells them too? Or because they lose a war? They've been playing longer than you, why should they stop just because some guy starts playing the game and decides to rant about the way the server runs? Anyway, you shouldn't judge the clan because of the type of players in the server, most people in GODZ are nice people, if you'd get to know them instead of rambling about them because some guy decides to try and give the "noobs" a place to hang out and happens to be a part of the clan. If some new clan challenged [A] to a war, ad said that if they lose, then [A] would have to close down, can any [A] members honestly say they would?

Anyway, even if GODZ did close down, The GODZ server would still remain, Nochanc would probably just change the name anyway. He doesn't even have that much to do with the clan.

I joined them because I'm friends with most of them and I wanted to belong to a group of people. You shouldn't judge them because of the state of GODZ server, most of the actual clan members are cool guys (Bean, Azn, Jim, Especially Stevie <3). Can you honestly say you've taken the time to get to know those people, or do you just decide they automatically suck because of the people who reside in NoChanc's server?

And anyway, the opinions I displayed in my previous post would still stand even if I wasn't in the clan.
