Naw, alien ware owns, it's one of the best gaming systems around.

You can build the same system for about 3/4 of the price normally so yes, in that respect it is poo. But think about it this way, you don't get the 5 year return guarentee on your custom built one, you have no-one to blame if anything goes wrong except yourself : p
Personally if I were going to buy an expensive machine I'd like that peace of mind

That's crazy money for a computer. I don't care for high-specification computers, sounds a bit nerdy for me.

If it runs DX, WMP, MSN, Firefox, and Word, it's good enough for me

I'm actually considering buying this thing. But, after looking at your opinions, I changed my mind.

Opinions dont matter, just look at how much purformance it has,it works and looks great every-where,the menu's the grahpics levels, the key-board,monitor,speakers,and especially the case,i installed the liquid cooling on thursday and now my games run even better than before :D

I suggest you buy one,the best pc you can get...i still prever my 360 though :P

Un-educated dumbass.

Has anyone here ever TRIED to actually contact Alienware support and get a part replaced?

RIGHT, SO SHUSH.

In fact, let me go on ebay and find you a pc with 4+ gigs of ram for LESS money.

For a start -: 2GB Ram, 3.0ghz Pentium 4. Look at it.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PENTIUM-IV-3-2-GH ... dZViewItem

BETTER Than an alienware. -: 4GB, 1GB Of Video Ram In total, 64 BIT AMD 4800 X2 PROCESSOR.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/64-BIT-4800-X2-TW ... dZViewItem

At least $876 grand cheaper than an alienware.

See! Go with bob, bob knows everything. Yep yep.

Speaking of randomness in replies to me.

[A]MoshMan wrote:2nd pc is only $876 cheaper than an Alienware.

........... Is $876 substantially larger than 6 big mac meals, and 3 games from my local game shop?

YES.

So I honestly don't know why you said that man, $876 Is something You COULD use to upgrade your CPU, buy a new monitor, whatever.

And that was the most expensive example I could find, and how many of your PC's come with 4 GB OF RAM?

Oh wait, none.

Yet its still cheaper than an alienware?

And I'm pretty damn sure that No alienware comes with 1GB of video ram, total.

Right.

I could do this all day.

@Bob - I'm getting one in august (H).

Edit: In fact, I could take out 3rd Party Insurance and STILL have enough money left over to buy a new monitor&keyboard&mouse&printer&speakers.

Is that your way of saying YOUR RIGHT? And I quit?

Don't take an arguement so far if your just going to back out of it like a jerk and not even secede properly, if you dont understand how an arguement works, don't start one in future, because I wasted alot of time trying to prove a decent point, and all you can do is come up with the lamest most limp wristed response "Easy easy, don't cry" ¬_¬.

LMAO  I wasn't having an argument... but if you think it was, you have edited your post when you were raving on about it was like over £1,000 cheaper than an Alienware. Then I said it's only $876 [after currency conversion] which is only £465, not £1,000+.
Also, What would I be admitting I was wrong to? You don't know? :o ok then.

If you want an alienware beater, here are some tips:

RAM is always good, but don't buy 4GB, you're wasting your god damn money. 2GB will more then suffice for gaming.

Do _NOT_ buy server parts, I hope Idon't have to explain that.

Don't waste money on one part, only to go cheap on the other. If you buy 2GB of 1337 RAM, but pair it with a 2Mb cache 7200RPM HDD, you'll still be waiting long load times. Distribute your money to make a fast whole system. (This is very true of graphics cards being limited by CPU's.)

The best pre-built systems http://www.voodoopc.com/showroom.aspx?productID=1095
(No one said they are cheap.)

I'll tell you strait, working on parts that cost more then you earn in a month(or ten) is fscking scary. However the saving and knowledge that you built the computer more then makes up for that.
