I just seen a topic on an other forum I post on, the openning posts were:

I haven't seen a topic on that yet.

I love this girl, but I don't think she knows how much. She wants to stay friends, but that just broke me when she said. I can't imagine life without her, she is my world. I don't know what to do.

I need advice, I just love her too much.

It made me cringe.

Through maturity and acceptence, I've never been in "love".
I don't even believe such a fucking word truely exists.
All it is, is a collection of feelings wrapped around one fake word.

Affectionate, caring, attraction, idolising.
Etc.

I HATE the word "love", its a fake word because someone wanted to invent something fake to cheer someone up, make peoples relationships artifically more special, or something... the sad thing is that it makes people happy. =S

I could be half wrong and just think its an easier way to say "I really care about you and enjoy being with you so much and being affectionate towards eachother :]" as that really sounds gay.
But I know it was invented at least to fucking make people happy for a false reason.

And you get these kids who seen someone a few times and they're in love?!
It will take fucking weeks and months for you to develop serious caring for them.

+ you get all these facts like "if you loved someone you would let them go" "if you loved someone you'll never stop loving", first are correct, if you loved and cared about someone you would let them go and not whine about having to break up, if you were dumped you obviously both werent in love, as it is between two people only, not a single person feeling.
Second is incorrect, just give up the fucking ghost people if things go wrong!

So in a nutshell, I don't really believe in it that much at all, but I will only say it when I mean it, which is unlikely as I hate the word to bits.

Love in my opinion in different cases is used to be mixed with:
a. sexual desire
b. affection (btw it was a suprise for me that the word "affection" is also a synomim to "love" in English. Woah, ancient people were wise )

I think the victim here is "love", and its overuse and thus degradation in your eyes.

It seems that the term "love" is used to describe so much more then it initally was meant for, that every love sick puppy decalres their intentions as loving that person. However, "love" is just a word, and it can not be held responcible for every person that does not use it for it's original meaning.

At the heart of the word "love" is the collection of feelings one has for another, feelings that accumilate to a point where "affection" simply does not do it justice, where saying "I care for you" is simply not enough.

If you've ever seen someone die of a broken heart, you know love exists, and you don't doubt it's strength. But false love does nothing but destroy and hurt those involved.

I've been "in love" twice and its a shit feeling. It makes you do stupid things.

I do agree that its over-used, but everyone has to go through their first love at some point. Otherwise how are you going to find out what love really is!?

Love does exist, but its a very fragile thing. I don't advise falling in love until you are mentally stable (ie knowing who you are, what you truly want in life) as love should never be a crutch to support someone else..
