I was watching the news yesterday, and one of the stories was about a small country town that has a population of < 5k, and in this town, there was 40 (count them, fourty) girls aged 12 - 14 who are pregnant. Some are having their second child. The media claims it's to cash in on the baby bonus the government offers. (It's meant for babies needs, such as pram, food, clothing, etc.)

There is also the case of a 13yo boy who is now Australia's youngest father, his gf was 20.

Ignoring the fact that both cases are considered rape by the law, wtf is wrong with these people?

I have read in one of the articles in National Geographic that thousands of years ago, when Homo Sapiens just formed, girls were giving birth at average age of 6. And that was normal.

i never got the age thing, anyways i hate that people always think its a "Small Country Town" went to Chicago and met two 14 year olds who were pregnant friends(14 year olds who are parents=outcasts)

I think the youngest "Mum" in the UK is either 9 or 12 I think.

Some peeps think a baby is the answer to all their problems, and some are just stupid and think that they won't end up pregnant even without suitable contraception..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the current female body doesn't fully mature untill 15/16 odd. I know most 'normal' peoples (male or female) attitudes don't mature untill 18 - 20ish. I don't see how a 12 year old girl can think "Yeah, I'm ready to get pregnant.".

Sadly, in Africa, child marriage is quite common. Many young girls (4 - 10) die each year giving birth to kids, kids their bodies are not yet ready to handle.

Somalia being one of the worst.

That's some fucken weird shit, right there. I'm getting fucked off with people that are in their teens or even pre-teens (younger then 13) having sex and getting pregnant.

I don't believe their should be an age limit on sex, mainly because it's freedom of choice and if the persons are mature enough, then fine. But at the age of 12-14, that's just wrong. NO ONE is:

1. "Ready" to have sex, in both mind and body.
2. Getting pregnant at that age is a risk to the females health if the person didn't have an abortion she'd risk dying.
3. HAVEN'T PEOPLE HEARD OF FUCKING PROTECTION?!

I also don't think their should be an age limit on it because no one fucken obides by it anyway.

I find it stupid for someone to look at that kind of situation as sickening and pointless.

Life lessons and warriors are born and for the parents who make it at that age I send congrats to for the mother even living through it the pressure from the parents and the father if he agrees to tend to his child. ALOT of people were accidents, we have 12/14 year old accidents nowdays and they're normally frowned upon and determined vulgar. but like in most bad situation theres a lesson to be learned and wisdom to be gained.
