Now Im not here to make the stereotypical comments on Americans you usually get. Theres just something I dont get...

Why is it, despite having skiing, great shopping places, some of the best theme parks in the world, and tons and tons of other great stuff... You still, thousands of you, come to England every year for a holiday? I honestly don't get it! Half the time Americans complain England sucks etc..

Its not so much of a rant as much as a question out sheer bewilderment :S

If it wasn't for the monarchy then Britain would lose out on millions in tourism profits. At the end of the day, the whole reason people visit Britain is to see the monarchy and stuff that relates to it (historical buildings, museums etc). People come to Britain for the culture. And obviously because you only have to be 18 to drink here too. So the whole family can get plastered in the ol' Queen's Arms.
