The new gen of bands

If you have noticed some of the new generation shitty bands you'll probably agree with this 100%.

After watching Kerrang, alot of shit bands in general have won awards, including My Chemical Romance for best band on the universe. The fans may be delighted with this and say to others who disagree that they have an award to prove it. But isn't it abit time we woke up and stopped being naive, discovering WHY these bands actually come to #1 place time and time again. Its because of the media and money. If Tool was #1 maynard would probably say something sarcastic such as "woah im a sell out now". A comment like that can ruin a companies publicity. If you gather that up you will realise that these votes are of course rigged to the media/compaies liking. These awards are not for talent anymore, its just all a big hype. Im sorry if your into My Chemical Romance and other similar bands its try to wake up and stop giving into the smokescreen. There is still talent out there associated along side the shit bands but as they realise that these bands will not give in, companies interests deline and their popularity on Radio/Music channel decline

Yeah, and they all look at modern bands that don't give a crap about their lyrics or anything, Kerrang are greedy bastards, like MTV. They just want media attention & money.

Im trying to stay off mainstream but on the listener there can really be only one effect: those labeled "best band in universe" will soon be nothing but boring even for those who helped them gain that title.
On the other hand by the time nobody wants to listen them they already have shitload of cash and I guess it is job well done, other more alternative bands might be more enjoyable just because they arent brought to you 24/7 on every music station and tv channel, but all in all their profit will likely be considerably smaller.
If people vote such bands to be #1 so fast then they simply must be as mainstream as one could be.

The only stations I listen to on the radio are the classical and jazz ones.

Mainstream music is shit IMO. MTV is just sickening.

Well I'm sure most of you know my opinions.

But what the hey;

The music industry reached it's peak many many moons ago, it's all been down hill since then. Rap ruined music, but was popular by morons that wanted to piss of their parents.

In fact, just about all music used just to piss off your parents sucks.

And then you have the new metal shit. Most of the time they'd be better off just keeping the riffs(Which are actually good!) and dumping the 'singers'(Which are actually very bad!), it's not like you can actually hear what their saying with much clarity, nor would you actually care. And if you do care about their lyrics, you should tell your shrink next time your Mummy forces you to go.
(That's 'Mommy' for those that can't spell.)

There is hardly any music with a message these days, and if there is, it's by people you couldn't really be arsed to know about. (Willie Nelson[sp?], for example) There use to be anthems, songs people could actually get behind because they struck a courd with a huge audience. Or even just songs that indure for years and years. I'd be hard pressed naming 10 songs from the 90's!

Americans might remember 'Born in the USA', Aussies would remember 'We were only 19', Poms might remember 'The best speeches of Margaret Thatcher'. Music you could actually get behind.
(UK actually have quite a lot, but I'm not a beetles fan, and some UK people might be insulted if I say the best music to ever come from the UK was from a Queen, as it were.)

The you have god awful mass-produced pop and it's evil spawn - emo. WTF are people thinking buying that shit? Seriously. It's the same old carbon copy stuff, from each album, and then the songs them self have the exact same sound the whole way through!
(Like that album I downloaded on tbwse, I skipped through the songs and you could barely tell I did so!)

I think it's quite a sad inditement on the major music industry when most of the music released in the last 5 years that I'd consider ace, aren't from any of the major countries.
(Ignoring the fact I'm strange and opinionated, the marketing machine should of at least worked well enough for it to be a 50/50 affair, but it didn't have enough quality music to work with.)

Insert 'imo' where ever it makes you feel better.
(It's all imo, but who can be arsed typing it all the time eh?)

ROFL what the hell is that on the pic?!

As for listening music, listen what you like and not what is "cool" or "popular" or what not. If you like mostly mainstream music then I guess your taste is mainstream and thats all there is to it, I know people who dont listen music at all.. so..

I cant really imagine music that youd listen only to piss your parents off tbh.. if you feel defiant then you might like defiant music and when you managed to piss parents off with the music you listen thats purposly ment to be irritating to certain groups.. then why not.

My friend's band The Endorphins played on Radio1 last night. ^.^

At the end of the day music gets NOWHERE without the media and money. Its all the legal technicalities anyways.

Plus I think every generation of people thinks that bands are getting shit nowadays depending on what music they're brought up on.
