InternetHealthLibrary wrote:One common misconception is that schizophrenia is the result of 'split personality'. In fact 'multiple personality', the correct term, is very rare and has nothing to do with schizophrenia. The mistake comes from the fact that the name 'schizophrenia' was coined from two Greek words meaning 'split' and 'mind'. It was intended to represent the fact that processes of thought, feeling and intention, guiding the person's actions, no longer interact to form a coherent whole.

Me, myself and Irene is a case of Split or Multiple Personality Disorder AND NOT Schizophrenia

EDIT

I know this because my girlfriends Graphic Design project was on Dimentia

NO! That's a common stereotype, but schizophrenia doesn't create multiple personalities like that. It's much more like "A Beautiful Mind" (Russel Crowe as John Nash of game theory fame), where the mind invents people and interacts with them.

Thelonious Monk had severe schizophrenia.
"Phreaking doesn't exist. It's an abstract concept that is blindly supported by the collective consciousness of a flakey subculture. You saw nothing."

I once had a schitzophrenic boyfriend, but he refused to take his medication for the entire duration I was with him (just over a year). It was by far the worse relationship I've ever had simply because he was a severe danger to himself and to others.

1% isn't really a frightening figure though, the fact that 1 in 3 of us will get cancer seems far worse. Or obesity rates..

I wasn't stereotyping, I was referring to the fat cunts of the world. You're touchy with your country aren't you.

I wasn't stereotyping either, I was referring to the fancy <s>british</s> <s>irish</s> <s>chavs</s> fairies who are so puny and fancy and silly that they don't have a chance against our so-called "fatties". Damn, you got sand in your vagina or something?
