I think it's complete bullshit he did not get in. He's a very good modder and just because certain people can't see that, doesn't mean he can't join. From what I saw many people wanted him in, and so he should have gotten into this clan. After seeing that, I can't help but wonder if certain people were even going to let him in.. with that said, I would like to say, that everybody should use his mods more often. It doesn't matter if he helps a small portion of dx or the whole community.. he's helping it either way, and therefore you guys have no business running your fucking mouths about him only helping a "small" segment of dx. Good tip Ayleth, join DXMS. and just so you know. And in regards of this:

I can't disclose information because it is top secret that we close recruitment temporarily, but it is for the better, I assure you.

If I did give you the reason he was denied, I would get kicked out, or worse. So try not to ask questions.

Yet a poll was started, and a 5 page application turned out. No one EVER mentioned that recruitment was closed, neither was the forum locked, as it should have been if recruitment was closed.

Also, i will not tell from who, but i recieved intel that my votes for were greater than against in the poll? By quite a bit? And then Dae decides that im not good enough (1.5 weeks later i might add), and feeds me a killswitch. Since when was [A] a dictatorship? You even mention somewhere that [A] is a democracy. If the democracy bit were true, I'd be in by now. Once again @ [A]: Respect--;
Also, its funny... I get more recognition from my friends from different clans than from ANYONE in [A]. Well, actually, besides nobody. He, JimBowen, and [A]llan have been the ONLY ones willing to help. Yes, you [A] guys help the community with mods and maps, but what happened to teach the poor man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime? Hell, even for your scripting society, which is basically dead, you need to be 'accepted' then categorised into a permissions group.

I know I'm not in Alpha, but if it was regarding REN and there was a poll for someone with for example, 6 voting yes and 3 voting no, I doubt the person would get in. Why? Simply because interclan hate does not help a lot. We'd usually try to find out the reasons why people vote no, and try to fix that reason. If that doesn't work out, the person probably wouldn't get in.

So to put that into perspective... The only way people get into your clan is via a near-unanimous decision?

It really depends on the reason why someone votes no. If someone votes no because he thinks the one applying isn't good enough, it can be solved by just training a bit with the one who applied and if he shows potential, we'd recruit him in the end. If it's something like a massive issue between him and the applier, it's a different case, as such stuff, like I mentioned in previous post, can fuck up a clan pretty much.

So yeah, if someone's not good enough yet, we try to find out if he has potential. If someone has issues with another one, it depends on how bad these are and if it's already part of the past, or still a recent issue.

I don't see any other way to handle this stuff. Would you, for example recruit someone if for example 2/3 of clan likes him in, while 1/3 of the members have a grudge against him?

well, my source told me it was near unanimous that i get in. Also, i understand that Gothic submitted a request to delete the thread, yet i counter that request. I have talked with Cat, and thought about it , and i rest my case. I have said what i wanted to say, and Yes, i realise i overstepped myself and apologise. Not that i apologise to regain some favor to be able to attempt a new application. TBH, i don't believe i will re-apply, as things were not handled very well on the [A] side of things in my opinion. Yet, i rest my case. I may try to join DXMS, and if that fails, i may leave DX. I am tired of clan polotics, and non-supportiveness of others, even while flying solo. I see many ppl supporting others within their clan, Yet i only get support from my close DX friends on what i do. (My apologies for the exceptions to this rule, IE Magus, Nobody, and others etc. I am not talking about you.) Coding has gotten me nowhere on this stupid ladder of MP politics.

If Dae feels though that he dosen't want you in the clan, for some reason or another, seeing as he is leader dosn't he decide the final vote? Or not, i'm not sure. Just thought i'd put it across.

To be fair, this clan has enough modders/mappers, they need fighters. Active, skilled, fighters.

They're few and far between.

Modders/Mappers are everywhere, DXMS is the place to be for them seeing as they have an active server with popular maps. It doesn't take a genius to realise that.

By even posting in this topic Chaos, you've basically scrapped any chance you ever have of getting in.

In an exam, 50% is basically a fail, or at least it should be. Half marks don't cut it. The fact you care so much is pretty pathetic. It wasn't handled poorly by us at all, it's our decision, not yours and at the end of the day when you apply for a job, you don't dictate when they should tell you whether you got it or not, they tell you whether you got it, when they decide to.

Also, no one gets rejected from DXMS, Christ even Jon got in..

The way I see it, you shouldn't be too bothered. A is just another clan, they aren't Gods, being rejected from here is like being rejected from any other clan ( depeding on perfomance to some extent)

Appreciated, and seconded, but that isn't the subject at hand. This is about one specific applicant in particular.

An application to [A] is in direct example of such; people join to better themselves and people get turned away more often than not; Dae has stated the rules and regs of an applicant getting into the clan, and that includes overruling fellow [A] members in favour of his own preference - his clan, his rules; you'd do well to follow by example and remember that, as I have done.

Voting must be near unanimous for an applicant to join, and like it or not, different members' votes count for different values, and thats just the way things are dealt with.

It isn't just what and how you help the community, its how you conduct yourself in and out of game. With the exception of Max, this has been true for all [A] members.

Chaos, I am as dissappointed as yourself, and I can sympathise with your dismay, but dwelling on it simply builds on the foundations of why you shouldn't be in the clan. You're a great guy and one of the most enthusiastic modders I know - don't let yourself down through spite.
