Well, if you don't mind downloading ~2.5GB and a bit of a wait, you can use the torrent here, and let it run overnight.

Well I bought the parts from Preston, including the widescreen monitor, which all then had to be shipped back to Chesterfield, and the graphics card was delayed so my bf went in and complained and they gave me the better one up at no extra cost, so I got all that, now I'm waiting on RAM and a keyboard and mouse... and then vista lol.

lol @ this - Speech recognition sucks. :P
I remember seeing that! A year ago. I can't believe Microsoft said it was because of "ambient sound".
A CNN reporter, while interviewing a Marine Sniper, asked. "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?"
The Marine shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

I'm configuring the new computer for my dad and it's running Vista by default. I'm first time on Vista and what I can say so far is that it has a definitely neat interface and all these widgets, giant icons and fading aren't annoying at all, despite what many people say. There are some stupid things like that window ("profile management" or whatever?) which pop ups each time you launch an application, but it's easy to disable.

The only question, is it possible to resize widgets? Because I can see only like 2 first words of headlines on Google News.

Err, you can try dragging it out of the SideBar and placing it in the middle of your Desktop? Or try clicking on the "Settings" button next to each Gadget when you highlight it.

Dragging it out of sidewar helps, but the widget is still too small. There is no sizing option in "Settings" :(

Planning on getting a new computer soon, and I think I'll just go for dual boot or XP at first. Vista would have problems running older games, which I play quite often. I assume the actual need for Vista, which is when games come out which only work on Vista, won't be within 1 years so I'm thinking whether I should buy it for now or not.

I won't need it any time soon, but if I can buy both Vista and XP with the computer I might be able to get that OEM discount (windows vista is much more payable if you buy it together with a computer, as the price decreases a lot then)

Something in settings I expect, the new icons make your screen look bigger.

I'm guessing some Gadget's down have a re-size thing then. =(

Clix

Some games I have noticed don't "Seem" to work. It told me Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction isn't compatible, but it seems to work fine. If you play a lot of old school games you wanna be careful.

Or press like Ctrl+Scroll out or something.

[FGS]Zeitgeist

No! Vista is good, you just need to know how to use it lol. If your insistance on editing random system files/playing billions of games, it may not be perfect for you.

I have to say, I actually like Vista, BUT IT'S JUST SOO FUCKING SLOW. IT REQUIRES TOO MUCH RAM.
