Well, probably my final contribution to Deus Ex. This is a heavy map weighing in at 16 megs, plus a 5 meg texture file, and some mods including some alpha ones. I decided not to use map protection so mappers could get a look at how it was built. It incorporates a huge amount of movers and complex geometry, as I didn't hold back at all.

It's a very nice creatively detailed map which reminds of Invisible War. Good lighting, decorations, new textures and, of course, geometry involve new atmosphere which is what many new maps lack. Great work Mantra :gj:

Just like old times. I noticed you spelled my name wrong on the store, but oh well, it's one of the reasons I just recently changed my name. I've been jumping on that flying thing off of roofs and also throwing flares onto it, lol. Great map! Hopefully we can play together on it sometime.

Ah sry :oops: "Vodunloas". Aquashock would've been a good name for the water weapon store. :/ Maybe you can add me to the steam friends list, if you have hl2? I haven't actually played dx in a while actually, but mapping is too fun.

I'm wondering how you made that hover mover without any probs, and some other geometry and coding is amazing...

There was a "Mantra" fighting on Sunny Side around midnight GMT about a month ago, would that be you?

The map is being hosted on FACTORY server, the download time is very fast and factory has forums with map downloads, so we can make it available for 56k users too...

thx again, really enjoyed seeing a real map and learning, cos I map too...

The mover wasn't actually that hard. You basically build what you want out of brushes then turn that into a elevator mover. You use 1 sequence event to cycle through the sequence triggers. The triggers correspond to each keyframe of the mover. So for 4 frames or 4 positions you use 4 sequence triggers. Thats how the camera is done as well. You could probably make something more sophisticated with it.

Maybe, rarely play dx though anymore. I play css and theres 10,000 servers, and I load up dx and theres like 3 players total playing :D

Ah that was you then, I was one of those three guys. Well we had 52 online last month, when DejaVu ran a 32 slot 0-aug server.
Before that, DXSG and DXAG kept the crowds coming...

3 players total playing

Yup, not including the 10? mappers and 4? coders active, the other 103 ppl are only found on forums bitching, warning and banning each other usually...

Are you mapping for other games then?

To many people getting tired of other people shit with the hate and other stuff. Alot of people leaving the game. Cause most of the community against each other. :(

Theres a little chance DX3 will be any good, and a littler chance it will be moddable.
But it will be in development by a Frenchie and I ain't looking forward til I see good previews.

The single player in 2 was horrific as far as gameplay go.. I mean ffs, One ammo type for every damn gun? On top of that, the lag was horrendious.. and that's running with a GeForce 5200... Something that is way more than compatable for the game.. But, recently I started playing it....... It periodically closes for no apparent reason, lags like a mother...... But i'm more-less studying layouts than actually caring about the game........
