I've got some time on my hands, so i've started work on a mod to replace weapons in game with ones like Resident Evil 4 uses.

I have already made the Mine-dart launcher, and all works great with it. However, I thought I should see what the community thinks of this, before continuing further.

The weapons will be spawned by mutator, by a 'mutate' command. (Something like 'mutate re4mode')
I will most likely be testing it a lot, so keep posted here for info regarding tests for the weapons, etc.

Opinions, please? :)

It would be cool if you made it a .U file so mappers could use it in their maps. There's one gun on RE4 that would rock if you made it, The Sniper rifle. after it's been enhanced of course. It would Pwn!

Which one - Semi-auto, or bolt action?

Also, i'm going to replace the LAW with a one-shot gun that kills its target instantly. (To mimic the Plagas removing light weapon)

I'm working on the grenades at the moment though. I'll do the rifle next.
(With normal, infra-red/heat vision or tuned scope?)

I think Heat vision would be pretty sweet. If anything it would trully be the most unique weapon in dx.

My dx acts wacky when I play it. so I try to only play it if i'm testing a map or something. But i'm assuming there's a weapon mod that has a heat vision rifle?. if so where would I be able to get it?

Both heat vision weapons have been removed from that server :(

Personally, i'm surprised this hasn't generated more interest. :(

Flash Grenades and Hand Grenades working, now for the Incendiary ones.

I thought you meant the FGS server. Seems to be the only one hosting AltFire (TNAG) without killer lag...

. This is not a debate about my avatar .

Anyways, stuff I have working so far:

A knife that knocks the player over (FeignDeath) if they're hit in the legs.
A Semi-auto rifle, which blows a players head up upon impact.
The Mine dart gun. (Homing ammo replaces WP rockets.)
A frag grenade.
A flash grenade.
Most of an incendiary grenade.

Seems i'm making some headway. Finally :D

Just code/default models as of yet. :(

Will -try- to get some models in when more stuff is done with it. If you know how to get RE4 models out of the game, you'd be a god-send. :D

You can't put a % complete on a concept idea with only a few ideas in code form.

I may yet still add more/less stuff, depending on what people want to see.

UPDATE:

Now working on coding a zombie. It does most things with little to no hitches, but it just REFUSES TO STAY 'DEAD' ! ! !

Anyway, besides that, all works 100% :D
