Looks cool, but yes, remember to use a variety of textures, as Batch bluntly put lol.

Considering it's your first shot at it, well done. :) At least it isn't a 1536^3 box with a 32^3 box in the middle. (The map known as DXMP_SpawnShit, because that's all I ever did in it.)

It's not bad for a first map.

Now just add some more curves.

The biggest tip I can give you is pretty obvious - If you need a large model, like a Crane, but doesn't exist in DXMP, make it out of brushes.

Good stuff, good stuff.

My biggest tip is if you need something like a crane, rob it from SP.

, but doesn't exist in DXMP

^^ He was talking about stuff that aren't on DX. Anyway, I wouldn't get into the habit of taking pieces from other maps, unless it's something like a pooltable, but stealing sections will be frowned upon generally.

I was playing a map today called DXMP_CTF_Nevada.

It has portions in it identical to DXMP_S3X

and btw - that ERROR server dude... I waited ages to download a "world trade center" map and it was just fuckin 8red!

Also he hosts DXMP_Spar_Magic_2, and calls it DXMP_SKC

Wait... if that is the first map you ever started on, then your doing REAL good. One thing you got to learn to do is align the brushes right, can't have them overlapping each other.

Oh, and another tip,

Something I forget from time-to-time,

Doors.

Don't align the rooms directly next to each other, leave a gap so you can add your doorway, It makes it look more realistic if you have this kind of thing, rather than the door sticking out, and there being no wallspace.
