I would like to place some weapons on DXMS_Dust. However it is protected. Is there a way to take off this protection?

Perhaps you should contact the map author in the first place, his name is Chris Jones, he used to go as Jonesy. Perhaps he's registered here using MAV Jonesy name or something like that and if you're lucky, his MSN/e-mail will be attached to the account.

Ok, do any DXMS map authors have non-protected CS style maps like Dust that they could upload and send the link to me? I just want to add some of Cat's weapons to them and host them.

I think a weaponreplacer mod could do the trick without having to edit the map right?
You could swap the flamethrower to whatever cat weapon you wish with the right admin commands.
I'm not expert at this but I know it's possible.

Unfortunately I couldn't locate the file but I'm sure that [FGS]Nobody has a copy in his own DX database. I suggest PM'ing him, even though he's not a recent visitor here, he probably gets e-mail notifications for private messages so it's worth a shot.

Nah, like the one we (sometimes) use for Altfire I think? Instead of adding the altfire weapons one by one to the map, we use a replacer so all default guns get switched to altfire guns automatically.
