WOTGreal is very nice thing but i don't use it for codding: notepad or UltraEdit is much better and simply. I use WOTGreal to get list of things included in the pack, textures, listen music or to open packages protected somehow.
UnrealEd2 is very nice tool for creating pro-maps. By comparing it with UED1 i can notice lots of points, but here are most important:
- Less General Protection Faults (GPF) - UED1 crashes every 15 mins when im mapping, UED2 crashed 8 times in 1 year of using it.
- Re-builder. Less interpolation cuts, less problems with zones and etc.
- Browsers are better designed: now, long classes names isn't the problem.
Also there are some minuses in UED2:
- Impossible to add actors of Unreal Engine 1 on which is based DX
- Exact problems with hack: you need to load packages you need for map loading by yourself. It's easy and this is the way to fix it (using .ini and your hands) but hard for newbs.
