electric water

Postby Blade » Wed Feb 25, 04 8:16 pm

i'm making a map in which i want to put a canal of electrified water:
i've set in the zoneinfo painzone to true, damagepersec to 10 and damagetype to Shocked
BUT it does damage only when u enter and exit the zone, not when u are underwater...

ive also added a particlegenerator, but the effect is VERY small, while i want electricity to be everywhere in the canal... is there another way than putting lots of particlegenerators???

what effect are you trying to get from the particle generators? why not just texture the water zone with a "moving texture"

BTW - how do you make those moving textures like the ones in the Effects texture category

i use the particlegenerator to make electric rays, like those in the sp game near generators and similars...

do u mean water which moves? rightclick on the surface, select properties and check "small wavy" (i find big wavy useless, but never experimented a lot...)

keep your zone small, e.g. make the zone ONLY around the water.

You need the zone to be bfogzone true; then you add a light where you want the fog, set the fogvoume and volume bright ness to about 50 (then play with the settings) and the radius about 10... depends how big your room is ... then just set a colour if you are using one.

If you get stuck open up NSF hq map the one with the computer room, it has the fog effect used well.

Note: If you want to have fog to be visible then you will have to make accomidations for it.. if you want one small room with fog in it then you will have to make just one big zone a fog zone then set the rest of the lights volume radius and brightness and volume fog to 0 and just have the fog light's where they should be.

Play around with it, it should be easy to get the hang of :)

You need lights, in which you need to change for properties and zone where fog is visible. In Zone Properties you need to change bFogZone=True. Thats easy.
