Hi.

I need something cleared up.

What exactly is crouchbugging in-game? I was under the illusion it was the use of toggle crouch, where a player jumps, presses crouch mid-air, then glides across the floor, during which time is pretty much unhittable.

Apparently, according to -Majin- and a few others (btw I'm not saying they're wrong), I am wrong. I'm a bit confused, coz they are telling me that crouchbugging is simply slamming the crouch key really, really fast while dodging. This is my main (and only successful) strategy to avoid getting sniped within about 5 seconds of dancing with a sniper. My crouch key is mapped to the space bar, which makes dodgy much easier.

I'm getting sick of being labelled as a "n00b superbugger" and similar stuff. Could someone please explain?

It depends on whether you use toggle crouch or not. If you use toggle crouch, it's pretty hard not to "crouchbug" as pretty much anything messes the animation up there. With toggle crouch, both cases which you mentioned are a way of crouchbugging.

If you don't use togglecrouch... spamming the crouchbutton is a little bit fucked up but not really as bugged as the other crouchbugs. Some would probably still label it as crouchbugging.

That aside, I don't think spamming the crouchbutton will help you much against good players in the end, they know what you're doing and you're simply immobilizing yourself in a way when spamming the crouchbutton.

Tapping the crouch button really fast is classified as 'skill' by some people. [e.g me] But otherwise...

I don't mind crouchbuggers much myself really, I know where to aim.

Perhaps aiming isn't as easy on crouchbuttonspammers, but they move at half speed or even less, which kinda kills the advantage they would have at first. Besides I don't think you could aim and dodge well when crouchspamming, as you're diverting some of your attention to pressing the buttons all the time. Last thing is that your crosshair isn't gonna stay on head when spamming crouch all the time.

Apart from that, I wouldn't be surprised if some people actually would ban people for crouchspamming.

They can spasm all they want, but they still die.

Don't mind gliders so much. Only thing that annoys me is ladderbuggers.

I was going to demorec it, but I always take sshots as a first option...

Everytime I play you I never see you glide ect

It's just their excuse the reason they died

Are you using toggle crouch? If so, that's it.

As Clix said - yeah, it slows me down. I just never seem to be able to dodge at all. I strafe, jump (but not too much coz someone said about predicting where my head will land) and crouch, change direction.... still get capped within a few seconds.

And to whoever asked - my left shift is jump, and I move with W,A,S,D.

If someone is "spamming the crouch button", their hittable area remains in the crouch postition. Just imagine theyre a crouching person

That grenade bug thing only works sometimes. I found it accidentally in a server once, but could never do it again.
It happens sometimes if your are grenade climbing. If on your screen it looks like you fall then pop back up, it has probably happened.
The ladder bug is annoying indeed. Is there any way to fix it?

lets say u crouch and u aiming on torso, when u get at head

repeat that u hit torso and head = quick dead

Yes i bloody hate crouch buggers. Alot of 'good' players do it, It is NOT skill its fucking fail imo.

Everyone gets called it at some stage, people seem to think they know all the ins and outs of the games phrases or just make them up. I've been called a crouchbugger a few times, I did it by accident on DCSB server a long time ago, but Deceiver and Silverfox showed me the ropes and eventually Flip as well.

I've always found that being called a crouchbugger by people, is an excuse for them losing. Take it as another word for hacker I suppose ;D

I was talking about that when Batch was talking to me about crouch bugging. Some players have perfected it, somewhat. I have done it myself, but do not know what causes it.

When I played more actively I managed to do it at a proper rate, and after trying out different things back then, I think it's a little bit about luck, but of course, also about knowing where to aim.

For some reason it occurs more when you're aiming at the top of their head and getting close is also recommended, although it can happen at a fair range with a very lucky bulletspread. (Don't just go around expecting to kill people like that when firing someone at hangar from the tower in area51bunker though, but I guess that's obvious.)

For those who never have seen it and are in disbelief, get one of your friends to go on dx with you and get him to stand stationary. Then you move to the back of him, get as close as possible, aim a very little bit above head and shoot, that should give a 3-bullet kill always. It'll obviously not happen in a public game that your enemy will simply let you do that, but try basing off that idea on how to aim.

Fact is, you kill fucking fast in 0augs.
You just need good ping for the right timing and easier aiming, and of course good aim and sense of where the guy is going. If you have unstable net or the other guy lags considerably, then youll have to do with shooting whole clip in him, or even two. Ive had fights where Ive been forced to shoot 3 clips into single enemy, but thats usually someone warping/lagging hardcore. Like akeylo.

I am trying to learn a bit different style from the one clix uses, from average distance. id say chaos as well is very deadly for the amount of bullets he wastes.
