Nephthys blocks out banned players and protects a server against network attacks. Basically it keeps out unwanted players.

If you (as the admin) let a known bad player in, it's a different case. Nephthys is not an anti-cheat mod and it can't protect the server against the many game bugs which may be exploited to crash the server by a player who is logged in. If you get aware of bad players, just ban them.

Just the small fact anything from CRMD v.6 up kicks you for using it lol.

No, I'm talking about the aimbot itself, not the custom console modified packages.
Thanks

Why do you brag about creating/having created an aimbot? It's really gay

If you know you are fighting an aimbotter, I believe it's a fun challenge trying to kill them! 8)

Agreed. This is one of those things that goes under my "Asshole" list. You're an asshole if you're on it. And two types of people are ALWAYS on this list.

1. Bug Abusers (who abuse bugs for unfair advantages)
2. Cheaters

Bug abusing doesn't create unfair advantages....

The bugs are there - if everyone expoits them then it's still fair.

Everyone who doesnt know about the bugs isn't important enough to care about. Lol.

Not saying anything bout cheaters. They just pure sucketh.

Not all bugs are easy to find (which means it's fucking good cause bugs aren't good things, they're nuisances) and that listing really only applies for MMOs anyways for me. I still hate cheaters.

It's not just a question of fair if everyone does it etc. If everyone was doing e.g. the grenade bug the whole time, it would suck.

+ For a game with as comparatively few players as DX, new people (people who don't know about the bugs) are vital in keeping the game alive. Pretty important if you ask me.

keep thinking that if youre playing on competitive level. i think i may have beaten some aimbots already and im fairly certain that clixor has, but, lets face it, its a fucking hide and seek. whoever sees the other one first.

overall, there is not a single thing cool about fighting an aimbotter, especially since he IS aimbotting, he is usually doing so that he can back up the shit he has talked, and that means he will be on your ass all the time with insults.

To be honest im more interested in the psychology of the people that are prone to using aimbots, and not so much interested in what is going on in the heads of aimbotters. Aimbotters dont play for "fun". They do it to boost their ego and back up the crap theyve said on a competitive level. Alternative is the once in a while aimbotters that pretty much want to achieve the same goal, but are somehow assuring them that they are "having life" or arent "nerds" and still own.

Lets be fair here: competitive gaming is a sport where the equipment counts (i love competitive gaming, what ever involves the single goal of being superior, and i have shit computer by todays standards so dont read this as stuck up attitude or what not) and attitude counts. So using an aimbot against competitive player is like cheating in high profile sports games. Such cheaters usually get a lot of attention they dont seek, and have ruined their careers in sport. Of course there are high profile cyber competitions that involve big sums of money but your average aimbotter wont participate there. any cheating that takes place there is on a level far beyond any silly online cheater.

quite a rant eh

Among certain people it is rather spread opinion, mostly because it is only now starting to be widely recognized as a form of sport.
However, such reckless a stab at a comparison, and not only a comparison, is silly. I would call you a moron, but I would be warned for doing so, so I will not lower myself to such offenses..

Let me bring you a simple example: i put an apple on the ground, and swing my stick at it while aiming at a random hole in the ground left behind by earlier construction work. It flies over a small bush, and in spite of treacherous weather, the apple lands nicely in the hole. It is called golf. Obviously this is NOT a sport. Notice the sarcasm.

So please, think before you label something. Anything that is competitive and takes some skill, regardless of the requirements behind that achievement, can be (and is) labeled as sport, once it gains wider attention.

I place physical sports before computer sports and any other sports that require more thinking and coordination/reflexes than physical contribution (even though all sports have these elements at different proportions), but that is just me. However, I certainly place computer sports before golf and any similar alternatives.

autoaim=9.999 isnt aimbot.

What does that variable actually do, incidentally? I know whatever it DID do, MTL solves it. Well I think... never rly touched the setting.

Anyhoo - just wanted to say to User: two articulate and meaningful posts! I'm not particularly competitive myself, certainly not in a physical sense and (although I've contemplated it) not on a high enough level to use an aimbot in online games, but I see what you mean about the labeling.

I just use an aimbot to see how well I can code something which exploits the game.
Thanks

B2s zero aug server has FOV enabled. They use it. Obviously they didn't tell other players it was enabled. Is that classed as an unfair advantage? I know for a fact that setting is defaulted to ALlowFOV-False in MTL152b1.

Nvm then. Just wondered what the community's stance on it is.

Also srsly - what does AutoAim do? And before I get the ominous flood of "ZOMG ur LIEK tryna CHEET!" I just gonna say I'm purely curious. THose of you who play me in-game know I'm too crap to be cheating, and always will be.

FOV 135-115 can give you serious advantages once you adapt to it.

Anyone who considers computer games a sport, clearly can't play sports and also needs to get out more.

It's in the same class as chess, it's considered a sport and there are sponsors, professionals, and cyber-athletes.
