I think the community is getting smaller...

Have you noticed that less players are in dx? Since i joined the community the player count has been decresing and it seems to be getting worse. Like only 5 players playing at any one time where it used to be over 30... :( If gamespy stopped hosting master server they would have nothing to loose and alot to gain. As there wasting money by hosting an almost dead game.... And companies like gamespy
want to make as much money as possable. If it wasnt for [A] it would have been stopped long ago.
i dont know what else to say.....

Lol [A]lpha has their own, those that wanted to still play could.. But it would be a large step back, as those pressing "MultiPlayer" tab won't see anything, unless they alter Deusex.ini to the right address, or get MMUserInterface.

Game is 7 years old and the older people in the community don't play as much anymore.

An age old argument, different times it varies. Also, it is UK half term this week.
My main concern is the number of players in RPG building lego-like towers out of grey boxes, or selling desert eagles for $100 next to a swimming pool, rather than actually fighting.

Fighting may not be interesting to everyone who comes to this game.

No, but it is the heart and sole of the game.
Also, why would someone buy, borrow, download a game based on killing terrorists yet not want to fight?

I was plaing RTK XPS server yeaterday and some call called bloodoger was hid in a mechbot compartment saying "why can't we coexist?" I mean, come on.

We're not entitled to decide what is the heart and sole of the game. I mean you may decide it for yourself, but not for others. We all are different.

did you even play the singleplayer? :?

I would've agreed with you if there wasn't a SDK released by the creators.

Deus Ex is now a babysitting game for those children in their pre-teens who saw the game in a bargin bin at PC World for £5.00.

Yes I have played SP and sure the story is far more than killing terrorists, but I missed the part where I built a bank out of grey boxes and hid bars of gold.

I play RPG and do enjoy it now and again, but one server is enough.

True I saw 5 ppl online last night, but a few nights ago I saw more than 50.

There are always ppl leaving, but there are always new players. I don't expect new players to wish to play ATDM against ppl who have been playing ATDM for several years. I think most ppl play more than one different gametype. Some days I will play 0-aug, some days augs, some days DXAG, soon I will play DXSG and Altfire. I also enjoy the Test Zone, I think it can inspire new players to get into modding and mapping. It's all good.

~[XPS]D-BLOCK~, lol you'd often find myself, [A]lex and Dae on Cath Terra/Test Zone and we're 16+

Guys, face it, Deus Ex is not a good FPS game anymore. New, modern games are coming out which interests players much more than DXMP. (e.g. Call of Duty 4, Crysis, etc.) I personally love the game and I believe everyone does in this community (as why would they play if they didnt rofl) but we aren't getting new players anymore.
This is probably why you can find more people playing on fun servers. Even these newass games don't have such mods like DXMP does, thanks to its great community.
Also, new players won't come on fighting servers, because there are just too many pro's. I made two of my classmates try out DXMP, both found it shit. They found it shit because the pro's who are actually only average players kept owning them and they couldn't be arsed to keep playing a game that isn't even have the nice effects and graphics like new games do. (Not mentioning the lack of servers and players).
Anyway, time is going by, let's hope it's going to take long, until the heart of DXMP stops beating.

Deus Ex is still a good game.

DXMP has been dying since inception. This forum is still alive and as long as that is so, DXMP will be.
