Deus Ex Alpha

Im now hosting a UCC master server.
Heres the IP of my master server: 86.164.151.11
As i can barely reset my rotuer this ip SHOULDNT change.
If i have a power failure, ill post my new IP.

EDIT: forgot to post port it is :27900.
Here is a pre-made master server pack. it contains a master server starter.bat file, master server.ini and a couple of other files. all theese need to go into your system folder. also ports 27900 and 27800 need to be open. enjoy!

It's useless for anyone to set one up now, since we still have gamespy. There only needs to be one other than gamespy if gamespy goes down.

Yea but i like being prepared. But its there if anyone wants to use it.

In case GameSpy goes down any other masterserver will be completely useless.

And no offense, but I wouldn't want to use a masterserver managed by a teenager.

Alex is a teen too

I always thought that de facto a teenager is someone of age 13-16 (even though 17, 18, 19 end in "teen"), and 17-20 is a "young adult". I looked into Wikipedia and seems that such division exists only in Russian

Young adult but still a teenager, Young adult = 18-25, teenagers = 13-19

Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifthteen etc

gives me good 4 years to consider myself still young then.

it will be handy if GS does mantenence.
My router hasnt been reset for the past month and ill assure you it prob wont be reset for next 2 months. Until we go on holiday.

Put it this way, any one who is still at school (age between 11 - 17) is considered a Kid. Forget the teenage part, ur either a kid or your an adult. .

All these new masterservers at this moment are all equally useless

Alpha has it's own. I expect if GameSpy goes down a downloadable .exe can be made that changes the information in the dx.ini to the different master server?

Im trying to get it a free domain: master.dxjm.com this domain is NOT up yet. so just use the supplied IP. 86.164.151.11

I don't think anyone uses Alpha masterserver, then again, there is no point unless/untill GameSpy goes down.

There is no use for MS because its practically impossible to move newcomers onto it. Without the newcomers the community would fade much faster than it fades now.

So if GameSpy closes its masterserver we'll have to say good bye to each other and forget about DXMP. But on the other hand, why would it close it of all sudden?

Nah we should just keep other master servers incase gamespy goes under mantenence.

I know this is an old topic, but i dont see any servers now i changed to this masterserver. there was a line in the deusex.ini called MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com. and i made it like this: MasterServerAddress=86.164.151.11. Ive even changed it back. it was under this: menuscreen.joingame I think. Should i just reinstall Deus Ex ? is so then i will.

Just change it back to master0.gamespy.com

As for the new master server... eh. What's the likelihood of GameSpy screwing up so badly or the chances they'll close it down? Especially when Deus Ex 3 has been announced officially.
