Then a really awful 0-aug map, ok this next server does have some good maps, but it has some truly terrible ones also...

What next, a Porn server...

What next, 17 Custom map server. The download speed was terrible. I go in and guess bloody what. They've stolen and edited a very old fan-made single player map with a cable car and called it DXMP_MilitaryCanyon...

Then another very boring server with terrible download speed.

Then CG servers, which are absolutely brilliant but some players can't play on them, cos their PC freezes or hangs.

[A]Lee-Infinite only just makes the server list, without you having to scroll.

As a result of these noobs putting crap maps and terrible servers with terrible downloads at the top of the list, I can't even see FGS server without having to scroll...

I notice these days that DXMP is a case of having to fight for survival of your preferred gametype. FGS server has been attacked twice and suffered enough, I'm wondering what is currently making the server crash at night and why the hell we must tolerate being at the bottom of the server list, while utter shit is hosted at the top of the list.

All I have experienced this week is stupidity and hostility between factions.
0-auggers demand we 0-augged clan warred with them, but refused to fight in SG or Altfire etc, called our server and maps "shit and boring..."

I'm fxxxing sick of that arrogance, that you can't respect another member of the community or his work...

To me every asshole is as bad as Deja Vu, will say or do whatever they can get away with, in order to preserve only ONE gametype...

so lame...

I personally think RPG is shit and boring, seems to be younger people and it wastes way too much time, with little result or change in the game after hours of being in the map... but I dont stick my server at the top of the list and impose Altfire on you all, bitch you chronic in forums and servers etc...

I also think is very shit and boring that there is core group of default maniacs who think they are purists and refuse to respect or fight on any custom map, who refuse to fight with lams, explosions, the real stuff of war... to me they are stagnating the game and killing 0-aug, which has become an inferior version of CS, without nades or objectives.

WHY AM I POINTING ALL THESE ISSUES OUT?

Imagine a new player (cos there are loads at the moment), he comes on and sees a crappy graphic game which is similar to CS, but dont have any hostages, bombs, teamwork, nades, anything at all, just crappy 0-aug maps or everyone is playing maps hes already seen, A51 and smuggler etc, people with seven years DX experience spwnkilling and spwncamping and giving absolutely no chance, a bunch of people arguing which is best server, best game, best map, etc...

It's amazing we retain any new players at all...

You bastards have a responsibility. To not put shit at the top of the server list. To respect other people's choices and skills and developments of DX.

I might hate RPG, but I still support it and respect that it can be a good game...

Are you only pissed off because you have to scroll down to join a good server? Because most new players enjoy these shit and edited maps.

Stop trying to win new players over, by disrespecting other people's games.

Start thinking about how to get MORE new players, not influence the ones we got,

so that's why I am narked to see a Porn server high in the list, a server which technically is not hosting Deus Ex maps high too, and that idiot Dogny, faking [A] etc...

and why I am equally narked to experience hostility and bitchin over gametypes once more again from all corners...

Cos actually, no amount of propaganda is changing my mind, I love all gametypes, just I prefer mostly augs, 0-aug, custom, not so much RPG.

I love shit maps too, but it leaves me cold to see a mapper hosting a stolen piece of work...cos I'm a mapper.

I'm not going to bitch my friends at RTK, but they could improve the server, just as FGS can improve theirs... I've experienced admin godding and people gasbuggin and just as much as shit on GODZ as on RTK etc...

One of the main objections to GODZ was it being at the top of the list.

All I am saying is, if people want to go top of the list, it had better be quality and well run...

When I was starting augs out, people were spawncamping, spawnkilling, typekilling, anything to get kills really. And they hide behind "this is augs, anything you do gets you a kill, that's fine. u have to haff 7 years experience to know that fo sho" These same people who whine so much if you use 20mm in Silo.

Shadowrunner. For you it's important that the FGS server makes it to the top. Why? We got RTK on top, DX-CG and DXMS. 3 fine servers, and better than your FGS server.

ShadowRunner, Why exactly do you care about what servers are in a game? Take a look at CS there are loads of servers, and this game is practiclly dead, I dont think anyone else cares about the servers, except you, if you care about it so much, why dont you just attack them? If you want your server at the top just put 'yyyyyyyyyy', and when you go into that FGS server, you see these new players standing still, geting owned, they havent a clue how to play the game as no one helps them, thats why they play on the 'crap servers' as they dont get owned 24/7.

Well, itll only be confusing for beginners, but theyll figure it out eventually, or quit before.. doesnt really matter. I see these servers, but at the same time I dont see them.. deus ex has always had many servers (with the exception of those unfortunate events), when compared to the number of actual players.
So when I go to deus ex, right now I see RTK server and DXMS server, if some auged server has action I go there.. but what my eyes dont see are the crappy sg servers, or, the worthless dogny server.. it is funny you would even mention dogny, nobody cares about that nutter except the odd 9yearolds he might attract.
So yeah.. i dont really see anything shameful when compared to any other gaming community.. there will always be some idiots x10 in other games, and there will be porn servers x10 in other games.. those who do care.. good for them : )

I am sad about one thing though, that does hint something.. or blasts in your face.. how ever you take it: years ago (and even/especially "year ago") getting aug game was rare, an event that happened in late night hours /early morning ours (im gmt+2 +dst). At one hour people would gather and play augs just like that. Whole other time you could just go for 0aug game.

Now I wait until late night hours for a 0aug game. Reality comes creeping, and it is an unpleasant feeling.

I just sort by number of players, then see if I want to play any of them.

Evidently RTKM is quite empty in the mornings.

Enough people play RTKM though, I never see aug games with people in though.
