Deus Ex Alpha

I've used GamingDeluxe previously, but find they're a tad too expensive - especially for my next (and last) Deus Ex paid server.
Last time I had 8 slots for 3 months which came to £48.60 total.

This time I'm looking to have as close to 20 slots as possible. 20 may be overkill so I'd probably settle for as low as 12, actually.

This doesn't matter as far as price goes, but it'll be zero aug, 30 mins timed, with DXMS maps and DXMP_RatEsc, maybe a few [A] maps... dunno yet.

Will probably be difficult finding a company who will host such an old/dead game...

A couple of cheap ones B2S have used in the past, and the i3d one is if I remember correctly, Alex's RPG hoster.

Counterstrike is the one B2S ATDM use so you could check it out, I would recommend I3D from personal exp.

No offense, but why would you spend your hard earned money on a server for an almost dead game that doesn't really need another empty server to accompany the other 20?

I know it's silly, but:

a) It ain't hard earned lol.
b) I like being in control of a server, to muck about with test maps and generally being childish (i.e. codes and stuff), things which I can't do in someone else's server (I don't like bugging for admin).

May just get the minimum number of slots the server companies will allow. I just wanted to see if there would be any desire for a new server within the community. Some people may want a public server. Last year DXMS was pretty damn popular.

Gah, the B2S host does have a few disadvantages due to it being so cheap... The server crashes at sometimes but does restart...

i3d... Well I did find this a very good host with a decent control panel, but apparently they have just released a new one so I might have a look at that. But if you are looking for a cheap host that the B2S server does use, I would go for Counter-Strike.com

Sod it I want ease of use and reliability since I'm not around every day to nurse the server back to life lol.

In fact, not even bothering anymore tbh. Gonna hope someone else sets up a decent server.

Don't worry, I have played Deus Ex for less than an hour this week... Iv'e just got a few people to report stuff to me or to kick/ban.

It's simple really, just if somebody does get reported it's just hard finding what they have done due to the massive log and people taking sides...

Also, people that target your server to spam/lam-bug etc, just a pain sometimes.

I'm not bothered with being a proper admin lol. People break my rules, I ban them. Simple.

What kind of thing would you be hosting?

There is one euro 0-augged server, one euro ATDM server, one euro BTDM server... DXAG, MultiDX?
