A clan called zXc has really been pissing me off. They just sit and play rpg all day. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with rpg but they do it very dumb. I mean, admin abuse and summoning shit all day is just retarded. In fact, we had a server called "Tactical", a mixture of Tnag, Tactical, and infbio (Tactical is over powered, must have a counter). One day I walk in and I guess a noob got a hold of the admin password and gave it out. The server owner wasn't a dumbass or anything. The server owner had a life and didn't just summon shit all day long. So they were just sitting there summoning shit, and godding the whole match in a server designed for killing. This made that gametype "For noobs". I found that to be retarded, because the people that were actually killing were called noobs as well. Anyone agree?

'Twas one- err, actually multiple days some months ago that they were trying to convince me I was a bad player because I couldn't kill their clan m8's.

You know like, it's not a big deal or anything... it wasn't like THEY ALL HAD EFFING INFINITE BIO ENERGY AND EVERY EFFING AUG ON.

If you go into the ZXC TaC server just do the gravity rifle bug to see dudes through walls, turn on all ur augs, use the auto sniper and the parker hale and streak the noobs till they leave their own server.

That and/or DDOS. Or just use engine exploits (considering they obviously aren't using CRD).

I'd just say stop tripping on other peoples servers still bringing any activity to this game, son.

But I'll trip when I'm having a pretty good smuggler match with 8 people, and some zxc guy comes into the server spamming "COME TO KARKY SERVER ZXC RPG MAP EVERY1 GET GOD AND ADMIN", in which (more than) half of the players leave to go spawnmass bobpage 20000000000000.

The players that would go to that are probably newbs getting streaked on trying to get a chance not to get balled on. There isn't any real competition in DX anymore, just random players looking to kill some time.

1. Just DO NOT enter their servers, everyone. Even if it's the only server with players. That's the mistake. It motivates them to continue renting if you do. I stopped because I realized I was going to vomit if another zone-lighting only/daylight/bright/unlit textures map came on, maps with empty rooms and giant corridors. The stuff you mention is predictable, but I like to play DX, don't care if it's augged or not, but if the map looks like a 3 year old made it without any lighting at all, I don't last 10 minutes. If everyone stops going period, eventually no-one else will, their current fanbase will mature and move on to XKT and 0-aug servers. They seem to be trying to do some of the things Alpha experimented with, but there seems no way to be able to educate them or work with them at all.

2. They got CTF weps there too, auto sniper, it's worse actually than you think. I don't have any complex binds and to switch on all augs and pick-up 3 weps before auto-nubs get me is difficult.

3. People are entitled to do what the hell they like in their own server I guess, but like you said, if their server is empty, they enter servers with fights going on and spam a call for their server. If it didn't attract more people to their servers, ban them for it if they won't stop that shit.

4, I can handle the admin abuse/godding, but combined with a 12 year old calling me "gay" and telling me FGS is "gay", I feel the sweet smell of retribrution in my veins.

The other solution is to get behind people like Cozmo and DJ and support them as much as possible in every RPG effort there is, even if you hate RPG, do it, because it puts ZXC out of business.

The other thing I can do personally, is make sure that only servers that actually have DX maps and ppl playing DX are promoted. Who cares if 10 guys use ZXC, if 100 are using THC and FGS.

It is a concern though, there seems to be no negotiating with ZXC, no reason, no logic, no respect at all from them to anyone else in the community. I tried and admin just spammed that I was "gay". It worries me because some games industry people will be using DX servers from next week and possibly even journalists later on, I'd hate them to land on ZXC server by accident.

The thought of journalists geting on a ZXC server makes me sick to my stomach..

I really, really hate slander but ... OH MY GOD Tac server lmao! Don't do what I did and waste like 100mb on a server dload finding that out.

Yeah I'm kinda worried about the Eidos guys backing DXMP:HR spotting it. Then again, they've seen the quality of some of the mapping already, so they might just disregard them.

Entered their build server the other day, the map had massive pornographic images all over, not sure if they made the map or whether they butchered someone else's work, not the first time I've seen maps edited with such imagery.

That server is Dogny's, he is hosting fake zXc servers.

Sometimes I enjoy playing on their tatical server, but after sometime they start leaving the server and other dudes do not want to be killed (!!!). However I really like it when someone more skilled is also playing there.

How can it be slander if you are telling the truth?

Thankfully Eidos guys are way too busy to be playing DXMP and I get the feeling there's plenty of games industry people who were weened on console, but Tejas just scared the shit out of me with his post about journalists, I imagine checking out previous DX titles, including DXMP. People from Eidos forums who pm me or non-DXMP people working on our mod all say similar things...

1. I tried DXMP and lasted 2 minutes, the gameplay was bananas. I hated it.

2. I tried DXMP, I liked it, but where the fuck were the augs?

3. I tried DXMP but it was wasnt like single play, there was no map, only one room, no items, everyone just killing each other in one room, there was nothing to explore, nothing to do, nothing to pick-up, there was no mental stimulation of any sort. It didn't seem like DX.

4. I tried DXMP but the map was horrible, no lights, no shadows, no tunnels, no doors, no nothing. It looked nothing like DX

No 3 and 4 sound like Dogny, TKG and ZXC servers, but then No 3 is true of many so-called good servers.

Hm... sorry but that is currently describing some of the current DXMP gameplay.

If those god damn dudes can not read the server name ("Zero augs","party server", etc) there is nothing we can do about it and neither change something in DXMP, maybe u can pm them back and ask them to read it before joining a server! When I joined DXMP first time I understood those bad maps were actually mods and are not related to the original game, if they are really interested maybe they can explore the other servers!?

People play the most awesome single player game ever (with atmosphere, dark lighting, maps which have multiple paths/multiple choices), and then connect to MP...

how can you be surprised at those comments. If you have just finished SP, you'd expect some of SP in a multiplayer game, but if there's no augs, a map which is one room, no items, nothing at all, it's not surprising if people bitch DXMP.

And hey, people won't explore empty servers mostly, they'll go where they see people. They aren't all like you, most will form their decision within 3-5 minutes.

My first experience was Drunkard's Botserver. No stupid players, no stupid maps.
