Ok, I think I got the Basic Levels ready to go. Now
We need your guys' maps. Sounds weird when I say
it like that but, yeah lol.


We're gonna find a way to put up a Beta Server for maybe
3 days so We can have your opinions on what you like, dislike,
have ideas for my maps, add a specific package, etc.

We Have a rather large amount of packages in the server.
Sooooo...... I don't want you guys to keep waiting to get on
the server because of all the downloading. Im gonna put up
another Forum with a ZIP file with all the Packages in the Server.
If I ever add more packages, Ill update the ZIP File.

BTW, What Packages would YOU like there to be on the Server?

Limit the amount of data that people have to download to play on your server. Having a 'pack' on a website won't help much, people won't go out of their way to play on your server given there are other, perfectly fine servers like yours out there.

Alright, well it was just an idea, so that people wouldn't have to wait a long time...

yes, the worst servers are ones that have 80mb downloads just to play on smuggler with non of the mods actually on the map

YE, Altfire is the best example!
The hoster must be a real nub.

But Im for certain All packages are included in the Maps.... Theres not one map that I made right now that doesnt have at least one item from all packages i use.

Regardless, it's still an issue. People don't want to wait ages to play on a server and they won't go out of their way to search the internet for a pack that they can download containing the content. If there are other servers with less downloads that they can simply hop on to, they will choose them.

Well what about this.... Look at WW2 Server for an example, Total is about 65 MB that the player has to download to play on the server, meanwhile there are other servers that are playable, BUT.... WW2 still gets a high amount of players almost daily. This tells me that it doesnt matter how long its gonna take to download the packages, people are still gonna play it.

If something is of high quality, people won't mind downloading it. There's a server up at the moment where one of the maps has a load of Linkin Park songs on it. Large, completely unnecessary files that people don't want to download and won't usually if it takes too long.

If the download is something good, like Tnag or a popular map or something, then fine, most people will get those eventually anyway. But if it's useless stuff like "super mega admin gun" 8MB files then yeah people won't be interested.

I know, And BTW, Of course thats ZXC server, which are absolultly pointless. And I dont like to waste peoples' time with stupid guns like that. I have all popular stuff. WW2, tnag, Clysmsmod, etc.


I dont have one package that wastes peoples time.

ATDM gets quite busy most nights, there's a full server of ATDM for the majority of Sundays. If one person joins ATDM, the server usually fills up quite quick.

Im not sure what attracts people to play on ATDM...

It's the highest skill-based gametype, and the original "DXMP gametype" before 0 augs was invented. I can see the attraction, even if I never really played it myself. (Mostly because I was never good enough to compete against those a lot better than me)

Yeah. same I agree. but anyway I need some help with maps, I only got 10 for my server coming up, but I thought that having some newly made maps from other players would be good so people could admire them when they play

I am in A!B just to promote it haha. Haven't played the game for years.
