Deus Ex MultiPlayer is almost dead :(

Postby Pappa » Mon Jan 24, 05 1:55 am

I don't see many ppl on Deus Ex mtl, Just empty server's, Makes me sad, To see my favourite mtl game finally coming to an end, Clan battles are very rare, Clan's are falling left right and centre, It's a sad sight. I have HalfLife2 , CounterStrike Souce , Doom3 , Halo2, PainKiller, And still think Deus Ex 1 is far better. The graphics are not so good, But the Deus Ex 1 mtl owns

Do you think that might be because most of us brits are either in work, school, college or university at this time?

Yes, certain 'Busy times' are now common. Like at maybe 2am GMT when all the American's play or at 8-10pm for uk Dx'ers

We aren't dead, merely dormant

I think what Amme said is right, I don't think it will ever die Completely, there will always be people playing.
I also think what Bob and JCDenton said is true, I just wish there were loads of ppl on like there used to be, I know it will never be like before, But can you imagine it being like CounterStrike, Imagine how good it would be, I say to all of us who still love Deus Ex mtl, Let's try and keep it going forever.

This is why i would like to give The [A]lliance a big tap on the back for
By bringing continuous amounts of maps & mods which they continue to bring to the game and our Deus Ex community.

Another words Thanks [A] for keeping Deus Ex mtl alive

the release of both HL2 death match, AND CSS have aalmost killed the community atm

its really frustrating seeing players leave DXMP games, with the words

im off to play CS

its strange and VERY annoying, you would thin they would do more to save DX

but people don't care, its sad really

Right now, we're making Novocon to liven DX up a bit.

once DX: 3 is out, more and more people will move onto DX: 3.

best thing for Ion to do is this:

release DX3, but WITH IT release a new up to date DXMP, exactly like DXMP but with better graphics etc etc

so - us existing players get a better DXMP world

new players are introduced to the scene

Your Novocon is a nought, utopia, excuse me for my harshness but with making "novocon" signatures and renders of several weapons once a month - this even doesnt attract public anymore...
And DX3 will never be out or it will, just another game with this name. I'm sure that it will happen in 2-3 years minimum. There is no smart leader Warren Spector, and even witchboy in the team ISA and even if its ever gonna be released, its gonna be a combination of a primitive story for a typical player (of 9 years old) and good graphics (thats typical for single player games nowadays (examples? HL2, or DX2)), with a multiplayer support but i can assure you that DX3mp will be totally different to our lovely DX1mp. True DX1mp with augmentations is too hard for people to understand. Folks prefer CS-like games where everything is simple as fucking: just press the left mouse pointing on a player, kill, and type "lol".

Although I don't think it will ever die Completely, there will always be people playing.

I really hope...

True Daedalus, true.

However Deus Ex 3 has a chance of 34.8% of being out, not bad, but if they can find some kick-bunk modelers, modders and technicians, then that will raise the percentage up to a whopping 63.8%

Now, they ARE working on DX:3, I know of it.

its not utopian if we manage to implement it

besides, i personally ddon't care about the public - as long as we achieve something

i want to be safe in the knowledge that i participated in the creation of something

Derek, everybody can be found if there is money.
They got money but they need truly smart staff manager and ideologist like Spector was unless they want to repeat their experience and a complete fiasco with DX2.

do you nt understand what i just said?

it DOES have a point
the POINT of the mod is for self satisfaction

it has good storyline, good mapping so far
and u want us to quit?

you are attempting to de-moralise us but it isn't going to work, because i am sticking with it

i have put in ALOT of work to this mod, and so have the rest of TEI

1. i already said it DOESN'T de-moralise us

2. they are not facts, facts are truth
you are reciting personal opinion and speculation which in some cases mayb apply to you only, and therefore have no effect on anyone else

Is spot on, they should keep DXMP, the same, same smuggler, area51 ect, just upgrade graphics, maybe add a few new DXMP maps from the latest DX single player story, What ever thats gonna be, and all happy, oh last but not least, hope they keep simular DX Engine :)

Yeh, it would be great though I don't see it happening, as erm...Dae I think said, a large majority of people want a game full of new players who they can kill on their first try with point and kill game play. No long fights and no 'complications' like augs that might make CS gamers brains fry
(If I ever somehow become extremely rich, I'm hiring a team to remake DX :D)
