DXMP FAQ

I'm looking for people who:

1. Are interested in helping community out
2. Have 20-30 minutes of free time a day
3. Know English on average level
4. Know a lot about different aspects of Deus Ex
5. Got mind

Actually i'm (we're) going to make a giant FAQ about DXMP that will be handy as for newbies, so as for advanced players. I want to share my and other's experience.

FAQ are Frequently Asked Questions, a form of article, a form of bringing information.

Why? I still hear people crying that they're moving slowly in the game (the pressed caps-lock and they walk instead), on any aug server once a day you will certainly hear a person who asks "how do you move so fast?" and et cetera. Not to mention all these people who don't know about binds or what is DXMTL.

If you can do all these 4 aspects and you want this, please let me know in this topic.

Please note that FAQ aint going to be a "Dae's project" like people contemporary are used to call projects. I want it to be a community project for community and lead by community.
I can't handle this alone not only because of lack of free time, because i'm sure there are some questions that i cant answer (especially in fighting aspect). And if i do that alone, FAQ will be very subjective, giving only one point of view in arguable questions (see example below).

I want smart and experienced guys like DestroyerZero, Moop, Ricci, Amme, Dejavu, Monkee and so on to participate in it. Even if you hate me personally i'll still be happy include you in team... You work for community, not for me.

Way of team work: we create questions, we answer. Each person can ask his own question and can write his own answer on his question or another one question. And for example, the question "Why people prefer zero-aug?" can be answered in different ways (see topics where me and Deja argued), but all the ways should be included so the reader could choose what he prefers more, by his own point of view.

How? Theres going to be a script. You discover that, aha.., for example, you've done all the friggin homework and wrote all the friggin essays, and theres a couple of minutes of spare time, you log in, see a new question flashing, you answer it or add your opinion to existing answer. Thats like you do every day on forums, but in this case this will be hell a lot handy.

Theres no rules, just a few issues: no net speak, not flaming, no *bad words* :) Text smilies allowed.

In case if theres a crash or someone accidentally pressed delete button, we'll setup an automated backup system that makes backups like every 4-6 hours.

Who is interested please let me know, just reply to this topic.

www.deusex.tk

works on the way, you go to newbie server and advertise the URL. if you kill them, show them you are a good player, they will get interest checking it. but some newbs are tuff guys - even tho they are playing the game for second time, they would still claiming they aint newbies. LOL.

Cna I jion?

I think I would be good for this. I know alot about DX as a game, both MP and SP.
I would be good with MP history maybe, as well as DX as a game, the history of the game, plot etc.
But that is only if you wish to include such things.

I could easily help with a FAQ about the game.

I originally wroke the Wikipedia page on UNATCO, but someone then came along and bettered it... so my work isn't really there any more, lol. But anyway, it shows that I have extensive knowledge of the game, etc.

I don't see any point of competing to already existing FAQ for single player on PlanetDeusEx.com :)

And you're in when the script is ready.

I found the big problem with DX, and no offense ladies and gents, but its not a high brain powered game, tactics go out the wall for those who can keep their hand steady and press one button which heals, switches to your best wep, calls work to tell them your sick etc

However, I found there are a few tactics which todays DX players overlook, and although they may seem a bit silly or weird, i find personally without tactics i may get i dunno, 22 - 20, with tactics i would get 9 - 1, now theres a difference between 22 and 9, but theres a bigger difference between 20 and 1, so yeah, im willing to share my pearls of wisdom, even though they wont make players better at the combat side, it still presses the advantage

I'll write you a text file with a few QnA(Questions N' Answers). So you can copy and paste them into the site.

I apply to all of those. I know a lot of DX tricks (mostly 0-aug), not cheats mind you, a lot of aspects of the game, and some useful aug tricks that everyone already knows about them...

High brain powered games are usually not really successful, because a lot of people in our world are very stupid. And DX aint that stupid, like, for example, CS.
+try augs.

++ Good to hear that you all are joining :D

dude, DX 0aug and CS are the same stupid when playing public. but cs has huge community, so all professionals even dont play public, just wars, and there you simply have to use some of your brains.

Clix is a fairly tactical 0augger and he is good at it.
Watch him next time you play.

Tell me if you can see what he does.

I'm currently preparing question list :) Gonna be huge, but most of people here are able to answer at least 80% of them.

Alongside the FAQ, you could include a tips and tricks thing, I've got a ton of em for the 0-aug community now...
