I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems that now, Godzserver has gone (Yay). Anyone know about this?

The GODZSERVER got crashed by Alex as an April Fool's joke. He also crashed many other non-aug servers, and pretended to be NoChanc. April Fool's, DX.

Yay! good ol' Alex, making DX a better place by crashing GodzServer!

I crashed it 4x yesterday. I might continue doing this for the entire month April.

Also provides a good shooting range when Gamesmajor is full.

Probably a D.D.O.S attack of some sort. (Gets hundreds of fake connections to connect to the server, and lags the server to death.) We used to get a lot of those playing Multi Theft Auto, if you played it...

not as simple as it sounds. you need access to few servers with a lot of bandwidth (100mbit or more), then pointing ICMP packets to one IP.

most prolly its a bug or something, that allowes you to crash the server. but however, i doubt nochanc is so stupid not to use autorestart script for his server.

if you think so...errr, GODZ server provides nothing but lame destruction of dxmp. providing server with so shitty maps (that even my grandma would make better), 20mm in 0aug mode, such lag,... GODZ server should be banned off MSL.

But it provides the community with fresh players, regardless of if they stay in GODZ or if they branch out and become good AUG/0-Aug players

This is right. Only an idiot would make a DDOS attack from his own PC.

the problem is, that you think they would go to any other other server and start playing normal dx. no, that acctually doesnt happen at all. players, that are used to godz, will stay playing in godz as long as godz server is up. they wouldnt join any other server nor have interest of learning any other style.

a new newb comes to check dx. what happens? cos the only populated server is godz, he has to join godz server to check the game. if he is a total newb (didnt play any other online games yet), he would prolly enjoy, enjoy getting killed by lame 20mm in 0aug, or turret in spawnroom and killing others on such lame way with no skill needed. once he enters a better server, his ass is owned and he wont touch that server anymore.

what happens if an experienced player check dxmp? he enteres godz server and see that the game is complete shit of the biggest shit he has ever seen. he wont touch dxmp anymore, claiming its a shitty game.

im talking that from my experiences (since ive represented the game to some new players).

hmm, i used to be a godz noob only playing that server... How embarrassing but i got good at it then i heard someone talk about GamesMajor and that was 1,000,000,000 times better, less - lag, noobs, noob weapons, turrets, shity maps etc.... The list goes on...

So i agree, Crash Godz

The thing is, when GODZ goes down, do the other players flock to a different server? No, they quit until its back up, so you are either gonna have population or complete desertedness, and whats worse?

"Oh lets check this game out, hmmm, heres a full server, lets play this" with the chance of liking it or not

"Oh lets check this game out, hmmm, no one playing, oh well, it is an old game"

And the other thing, dont spoil other peoples fun, just because you dont like one server, its not like you or the people you have "guided" to DX have to play GODZ now is it?
