Announcement: MMuserInterface Readme rerelased, download!

I think we need a individual webpage on how to add the latest Masterservers so it can be done efficently and quickly.

It will be handier, so all that would be needed is to distrubte the link and a guide could be there on how to add Masterservers generally and the current online ones

Domain could be like DXMasterservers.com, or even tk, anyway point is, the huge problem is that not many people know how to host on dxmtl or any other Masterserver besides the Gamespy one, or see the 0augged servers on DXMTL and such, so I think this would be very handy.

EDIT: Even just an installer which inserts all the revelant text into the ini, so an automatic job perhaps.
Because believe it or not, some people don't have a clue how to do it :/

yes we shouldcuz i dont have a idea i think i should get a brand new deusex.ini and start from there because at the moment im lost.....

Perhaps a guide should be put on the Site Dae? I expect Alex would need to write it as he actually made it and knows all the finer details.

Alex already wrote about it in MMUserInterface topic. You may just copy / correct where needed, as I doubt that I manage to get him write something there.

Alex made MMuserinterface but I'm talking about Masterservers

Perhaps a combo of mods combined together.

I.e
Install program which gives you Nephthys, MMuserinterrface, DXMTL152b1, or MiniMtl, along with the current Masterservers, which is 3. Something like that.

I.e the installer extracts all files and then if possible, this would be great, all the ini config stuff done automatically by the installer. So if you have other mods, instead of having to put them in ( remember, this is for newbies pretty much.) just add to the exisitng ini and system.
All files extracted to system, then all relative stuff needed for these added into ini automatically, along with the two masterservers ( I will refer to the ip one as GODE to avoid confusion) so GODE and DXMTL put in automatically by the installer.

All the User has to do is a few simple clicks. Very simple

BTW, this isn't impossible, the ini part, Nephthys, when you install, adds the Nephthys npt serquery and all that, with installer into ini

Ok, I'll add the MMUserInterface info to the Site, with all the appropiate downloads etc.

Oh I see, adding Masterservers, not using the mod. Hm ok. Well maybe you should start collecting info like the Ip's, names, owners etc. As Dae mentioned, the Site will be released on Sunday probably, so we can probably put a page there about this..

I'm more for the combo idea actually, I think it will work out better.

If you are going to put up a guide however:

A Backup Masterserver, which is important at this time, considering Gamespy is being attacked, servers are being unlisted.
This Backup, will display all servers properly and is free from attack at this time. Please Note that the Masterserver does not protect you against server attacks, but simply provides another place for your server to be seen and accesed.Even when the Server unlisiting on Gamespy does stop, it is good to have a backup, incase of Gamespy downtime etc.
New Masterserver, Hosted by DarkKnightKilla13.

To make your server seen on the new Masterserver do the following:

For Nephthys:
Go into your ini.

Find
Code: Select all
[DeusEx.DeusExGameEngine]
Underneath this Header enter:
ServerActors=Nephthys.NptServerUplink MasterServerAddress=67.86.252.168 MasterServerPort=27900

For those who haven't got Nephthys:

Find
Code: Select all
[DeusEx.DeusExGameEngine]
Underneath this Header enter:
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=67.86.252.168 MasterServerPort=27900

Your Server will now be listed on the New Masterserver

To see servers on the New Masterserver:
Find the Header
Code: Select all
[DeusEx.MenuScreenJoinGame]
Under this enter
;MasterServerAddress=Master0.Gamespy.com
MasterServerAddress=67.86.252.168

The ; Symbol before the Gamespy one makes 67.86.252.168 the Default and vie versa. Only have the ; symbol before the Masterservers you do not wish to see, with the one you do with no ; Symbol

Alternatively you can do this quicker ( seeing servers on multiple Mses)

You can say in the guide also, that the DXMTL.EU is the exact same, the only thing needed is obviously the address

so

ServerActors=Nephthys.NptServerUplink MasterServerAddress=Master.dxmtl.eu MasterServerPort=27900

copy the GODE Line basically, then just take out the ip and put dxmtl.eu

But an installer package would be preferrable, but this could be an option I guess.

New things: I updated it, there are 3 Masterservers now.

Also, make a list on the site of what servers are being hosted on What Masterservers.

At the moment its a bit scattered. Jims is on GODE (ip) but not on DXMTL, Sunny is on DXMTL but not on GODE etc. Hopefully that can get sorted though.
