Hi again,

Unfortunately you are incorrect. We will not be making any changes as this is the multiplayer code in the game. Your only choice is to stop playing the game online.

You will not be put in contact with anyone else at IGN on this matter as I already consulted the engineers and this is their final answer. There is no need to contact us again on this matter.

Sincerely,

Christine Henderson - Manager, Customer Service

You see that? Our only choice is to stop playing the game online. lol..

I'm going to try and visit Eidos, a few miles from my house. I am a journalist after all, and I wish to ask them some questions.

Please note Deja is advising ppl to leave DX and find other games.
This has nothing to do with augs or non-augs...

I believe that even Eidos will not turn down the PR opportunities that exist if DX continues, it will enter the Guinness Book of Records and be a story in itself. Eidos do it for money not love, even they will see dollar signs in helping us...

Also with daily shootings in South London now, where Eidos is based, there is all the more reason to speak about a computer game that offers non-lethal solutions.

The fact that Deja uses illegal methods to acheive his aims, including discriminating and excluding individuals and targeting individual IP's is all just gravy added to the pot...

The other thing I notice. Deja is doing a good job of proving he is incompetent at running servers without discriminating and excluding. He banned me for scoring more than 6 in one minute, but nowhere in the start up screen does it warn you.

I believe we have arrived at Dejagrad... El Deja... this is 1942....

just organize, stop moaning and deal with the fucker plz... if you can't then get help.

Because obviously they will jump to it!

I cant work out if your being sarcastic, or seriously believe this? I hope its not the later.

ShadowRunner wrote:Also with daily shootings in South London now, where Eidos is based, there is all the more reason to speak about a computer game that offers non-lethal solutions.

Not their problem, they just made the game, not police the world.

ShadowRunner wrote:The fact that Deja uses illegal methods to acheive his aims, including discriminating and excluding individuals and targeting individual IP's is all just gravy added to the pot...

Again, not their problem. They're not the internet police!
They made the game and announced they wish to have no further involvment in the multiplayer, hell they stopped supporting the SP a long time ago!

ShadowRunner wrote:The other thing I notice. Deja is doing a good job of proving he is incompetent at running servers without discriminating and excluding. He banned me for scoring more than 6 in one minute, but nowhere in the start up screen does it warn you.

3rd party game modification, they're not responsible for changes to a game they have signed off on. If they did happen to look into this and modifications to their content, I think [A] would be in alot more trouble for making the multiplayer aspect free without consent.

What did you originoally mail them saying anyway?

thansk for the positive outlook, but there's no harm in contacting a company and asking them where they stand on a particular issue.

If you think the games manufacturers are not already under pressure to be responsible story makers and image makers then you are deluded.
I cant think of a company in the world who would turn down unique PR...

I dont know about your last point. The SDK was released, the invitation to alter DX existed... not sure what you mean, how have [A] made MP free? You still need a CD or to buy the game on the internet...correct?
I think [A]'s mods like DXSG and DXAG etc are in a class of their own and IMO are what kept Deus Ex alive this time last year. Do you remember when it was 20/20 on DXSG and 20/20 on DXAG at the same time. This is why I oppose Deja and refuse to bow to illegal activity.
To be honest I am surprised that Deus Ex Stargate has not become an official thing, it's enormous fun and very clever in concept... And if you think how many fans there are of Stargate, Eidos should have really considered purchasing it, or at least releasing DX3 with MP and SDK...

if A infringed Eidos to counter Deja or keep DX alive, the blame IMO falls on Eidos. I bought a copy of DX new in a retail sale only 2 years ago it was still in the UK high street shops. Therefore if Eidos only support the game for 2 years, have I had my money's worth? Do you see what I am getting at?In any case to put it bluntly, I can take Eidos to a wine bar in Wimbledon and get them drunk, Deja and his orcs can't do that, so why not exploit that, since everyone else is exploiting the game?

EDIT: to answer the question... i asked them if they knew the state of DX these days, elaborating a bit on what that is, and that I am a relative newcomer and wondering if Eidos intend to support or comment or make any statement...

Naturally IGN is not going to give one fuck about Deus Ex because let's face it. Deus Ex is an old game and IGN are pulling oney by the shitload off other, more popular (and more recent) games.

Deus Ex (being nearly 7 years old since creation) is a "thing of the past." Sure, this Forum may prove otherwise. But it's not like IGN gives a shit about one Forum supporting one game.

There is a bigger community for Deus Ex single player and almost obsolete multi-player in comparison. I'm sure contacting anybody will not help us with this situation. In fact doing so could get GameSpy to shut down the master server altogether. Can anyone see what I am saying?

How are triad forums fun, that I do not understand. Forums led by two that consider themselves about the best thing that happened to human kind and the rest who worships them, or flames anyone posting a valid complaint.

Nah, you can download Deus Ex Slimline (Deus Ex without the SP) on the alpha site.

Hope you succeed with the getting Eidos drunk plan.

What the hell!?
Funny, I remember myself to be the best thing that Chris Walken invented, next to Optimus Prime.
