Deus Ex Alpha

Yes, it's true, GameSpy changed the master server to prevent some attacker from exploiting the master server list to blind out "unwanted" Deus Ex servers.

The last weeks I was in contact with a GameSpy developer to track down the problem and put up a work-around. The final change is running since today and many of you already noticed the full server list.

Background:

This core problem was fixed about 2 years ago, but unfortunately Deus Ex wasn't supported by the original game developer any more, so there wasn't anyone who applied the necessary fix to the game itself.

GameSpy, although not in charge for that, changed the behaviour of their master server to keep the Deus Ex game alive and allow all game servers to be listed. Although noone payed them for this old game, they don't accept an attacker dictating a certain game style.

I don't really agree with you, and if Deja does find another way.

It only shows how immature he really is. You don't hack servers worth thousands of dollars just to support one specific gametype

If you don't like 0aug then go play an augged server!

Most probably because they all took their servers off the GS MSL altogether, it would make some sense, as there would have been little point of remaining on a Masterserver which wouldn't have your server shown.

Is it Drunkard that hosts colour madness? Contact him and ask him is his server on the Gamespy Masterserver, likewise with Icho

He was on to a different guy. Me and Dae tried constant times through the customer service, which proofed to have no effect, Gamespy customer service team not co-operating in any way.

Zora tried this as well, until he realised he wasn't going to get anywhere with those guys.
