Replayability

Eidos Montreal has explained that replayability is one of its major goals for Deus Ex 3.

"We're going to be working hard to have a solid and in-depth storyline that will give players the chance to replay. The replayability is also very important", Eidos Montreal chief Stephane D'Astous has told website 1UP in an interview.

Speaking storyline and whether the team is aiming to follow the conspiracy plot of the original Deus Ex, D'Astous described conspiracy as something that's "really intriguing when it's well-done", but that conspiracy stories "don't hold the road when they aren't well-developed".

Deus Ex's story was very well done, D'Astous added.

"At Eidos we'd like to think that our games are very character-driven", he continued,

"We need strong characters and strong stories. So one of the factors that's very important to us is the game's stamina, its replayability. This will come naturally if we do our homework, and we're driven and motivated to do that. A conspiracy story is definitely an option for us to do."

So Deus Ex 3 sounds it's going to be better than ever

But that's the best thing about Deus Ex really? You can play it and finish off with something different.

The best thing is that they removed the 2027, that made me laugh.

They talked about replayability for the the last two games. This consisted of just modding your character differently for a slightly different game experience, Stealth, Combat, Non-Lethal or a useless mix of those two.

The only other thing that could make some of the more hardcore fans want to replay the game were to hear different conversation dialogues (Either which result in the same path to take.) Or watching the different endings to each faction.

What I want to see... Are different levels. Y'know more serious impacts to a choice a character makes. You take decision A and it takes you to one level, but take decision B and it takes you somewhere completely different, and you cant do both. This will create more replayability.

Obviously when implementing an idea like this its wise to allow a player the exact same content for each level. 'I.E. Number of Biomod/Aug canisters to be found in the separate levels, special weapons like the Toxin Blade, Dragon Tooth Sword etc.'
The only thing that should be different are the challenges a player faces, and the impact to the storyline that the player receives for making such a choice.

With the processing power of today's machines, I think it would be totally plausible to do this. All the developers need to do is put the effort into making great levels, with more emphasis on a players actions and consequences, and plenty of challenging elements that allow more than just two ways to tackle a problem.

This is a cover for no multiplayer and will not work against us. They're starting to repeat their mistakes from Invisible War. Get ready for the definite end of Deus Ex.

Ditto, plus you should shut the fuck up anyway, Zeitgeist. It was YOU who started all those god forsaken speculation threads and YOU who tried to find the meaning of the trailer.

I hate fucking hypocrites.

On Deacon's Post..

Yeah I thought that it would be good to have more influence over the story and where you go.

E.g. instead of being captured by Gunther (after killing Anna) and put in the prison-area type thing, you could fight your way out and take off in the helicopter to go somewhere else. To make sure the story isn't completely upset you could still end up in the cell eventually: Maybe you don't even go to another level and they shoot down your helicopter immediately. It would just be cool to have different ways of trying to get past and succeeding, instead of just "choose this and you go to the next bit, choose this and you die". Furthering the whole choose how you do the level idea.

New aug? Skul Gun =)

That would've pwned lol. With the option of running from Gunther, that could be considered the "hard" option lol.
