Deus Ex community is going to need you on this! If you'd like to help, you can spread the word on Deus Ex sites to rise the community from its slumber and bring them to the thread.

Not sure if this will be fruitful, but the EM staff do listen to us. x

Even if it isn't provided on release an SDK at some point is great for anyone.

Yeah they'll see it, I voted yes, too.. but the point is, they'll look what's benefiting for them money-wise..

So they'll probably go with those DLCs and expansion packs or something.

But who knows, SDK ftw, and if they go with it, it's gonna be epic.

making an sdk is valuable.

dlc does not affect sdks at all, we've been through this argument. dont think anyone has ever used an sdk to pirate dlc content (you dont need to) and dlc games like fallout 3 have an sdk.

What's gay is that they just sarcastically said "Polls are neat" to me. :D

But it's 40 votes (for a forum mind you) for it without any votes against.

Are there any reasons for someone to not want an SDK?

Realistically thinking they'd have to spend probably a year just to prepare it for a public release, otherwise it would be pretty much useless. As Spector said in one of his interviews about DX: IW, they did not release the SDK because it's a complicated thing to learn for a person that is not in the industry.

Of course, they can't magically pop it out. Documentation, making sure the public release of packages are working, training (other than documentation), time and money.

As I said in the original post, don't mind it isn't on release as long as one comes.

Money-wise?

Take a look at this Deus Ex ONE community.

Modding a game is an enormous factor.

I remember when Spector said that. It still makes me angry. They didn't think we could handle an SDK or the level editor for DX:IW or Thief Deadly Shadows. The community did just fine when it got the Deadly Shadows editor. Also, I think we've shown him exactly what modders outside the industry can do with an SDK, through our work on Dark Mod.

Any excuse to bump that thread, surprise that 2 of the 6/111 were planning to get a console version -- oh, and CoDElite, the EM/community joke account.

Yes there's a funny pic of the EM studio and speech balloons depict an argument about whose week it is to go on the CODEllite (that's how it's spelled) account.

Yes, polls on that forum are very misleading. People would have rather turned off highlighting than make it work like DX1/DX2.

This is the first? SDK thread from EM forums. Includes some hacking of TR and samples.

Two things are for sure.
Importing and using the SDK is going to be a nightmare in comparison to Unreal I think.

Seeing as this is a long time Deus Ex community, we need we need all our votes on that thread. Deus Ex 3 is going to be incredible, but it won't be perfect.
Modding can increase replayability, allow modders to make patches when the developer stops, tailor the game to suit anyones tastes.

A SDK is what makes it happen. Modding would be very limited and difficult without an SDK.
Its not asking for much, merely signing up and clicking to have your say. Every little bit helps.

anyways thanks for your time. Lets keep are fingers crossed.

regards TheUnbeholden. Just another Deus Ex fan doing his part.

I think it's more a case that most SDKs are free, where as DLC is an actual breadwinner. They're more likely to make money by selling DLC than they are by giving away an SDK.

At a glance, one main benefit from releasing an SDK is the viral marketing they could potentially gain. You only need to look at websites such as this one to see how long modding can extend the lifespan of your game (alongside multiplayer modes :P).

I can't believe fans of Sonic Generations created a working editor (Now on the level of an SDK) within a week with a console port using Xbox 360 DLC for an entirely different game, and the DXHR community still hasn't found a way to make something as advanced.

If a sdk does come out i only want one thing: Malkavian mod for HR

PostPosted: Tue Apr 03, 12 8:59 pm

it means DXHR zombie mods

at least 10 of them.

I have a feeling that another DLC is in the works. After that, they'll release an SDK.

These are my predictions.

Hopefully. I actually think multiplayer would be fun in DXHR.

Jay can get to work on unlimited party 4 skullgirls jensen edition

It actually has a lot of potential for being a tactics-based shooter ala Rainbow Six (and not just because cover system lol).

And BigFlyingParty_3 can be made...just sayin'
