Being that this isn't the finished product, it looks promising.

Hey the AA looks much better on lower resolutions, granted it's like, 2x lol

This isn't that bad! You are really overreacting here, as long as the gameplay keeps even a fraction up with the original, GOTY.

Also, DX1's graphics were dated weren't they. Fair point mate.

That too.

DX1's graphics are a result of the design team being split into two teams and some serious bickering. The first wave of artworkers didn't like or care much about the game. One team was under control of the publisher, Spector couldn't hire, fire, promote, raise etc... It took about a year to fix this problem.
I think this leak won't hurt the franchise much, if anything it's bringing some surprising and promising reviews.
Seems like DX3 gfx will disappoint us, but just like the original, it's not why we installed the game and the depth of DX3 is going to absorb us totally.

I'm enjoying the depth already. It doesn't have the same "feel" as DX but nothing ever will, IMHO. It was and always will be one-of-a-kind. The only other games to grip me almost as much were SS2 and HL2.
It's story-heavy though. Just not in the same way as DX. One thing I HATE is the pre-rendered cutscenes kicking in at crucial moments, seriously compromising the non-linearity of the game, but hey-ho, nothing's perfect!

Pre-rendered? They look pretty in-game to me.

No, the cutscenes are pre-rendered.

There's a few select scenes that WILL be rendered that were pre-rendered in this build, e.g
the climax of the prologue
image didn't display when revealed.
Can I ask you a question.
Do the cutscenes piss you off generally, or just when you were melee with someone and suddenly their starting position changed when it cut to cinematics. I heard that this is resolved in other games, but a preview reviewer was complaining about this destroying the immersion, that a figure that was sitting down is suddenly standing up etc.

Early days, but it sounds like this preview build leak has given the game some kudos, rather than reveal anything too horrifying.

Will fix image now.
Cutscenes piss me off as they're generally blurry and rather low quality, I don't notice things like starting position much, although mentioning this has reminded me of old old games which used to annoy me with this exact same problem.
I think some of the convos etc which are rendered in-game are of a much higher standard. I'd take some fraps videos but the ridiculous filesize is a problem for uploading.

you can import fraps into WMM and then export choosing broadband option for youtube size vids.
Speaking of which I just saw the first 15 minutes of DXHR.
- Very amazing. Intro scene was hugely brilliant and slotted in perfectly as a prequel opening.
- Very amazing story, something Megan says in the first room rocked me off my chair.
- I can't see what all the fuss is about the graphics.

This is the reason I consider it the biggest spoiler!

To be honest I don't see much wrong with the screenshots. However it is common knowledge that leaked builds (HL2, is the best known example) never really live up to the final quality of the game. Afterall, who's to say this build is anywhere near up to date with the current game development?

regarding graphics.
admit the jaggies are the worst thing. the low quality textures on signs = lazy but hopefully not full quality

keeping in mind it was a LEAK, not even an official demo, I wouldn't go too hard, but at the same time it was given to people to see it's quality and features..
however I'm damn freaking impressed overall with this though.

dont know why people are using hl2 examples btw. crysis 2 (dev) leak had more than release. thankfully no real issues, but the games jaggies look worse on higher res

I'm still pissed about these Jaggies. Turned morphological filtering on in catalyst control panel, everything looks like it's made outta jelly lmao seriously funny will screenshot when I'm at parent's again.
On shitty 'just-about-manages-deus-ex-goty' computer now. Oh joy.

Seems very smooth on youtube, but then I'm no expert.
I've watched 90 minutes now but that's all on Sarif property and I'm watching an old pre-beta.
Some of the rooms and contents seem identical and confusing at times. Also it's hard to tell from the video, but it appears the game communicates with the player as a player, not AJ sometimes. Otherwise I can't see anything I don't like at all. Non-lethal doesn't seem that stealthy though, seems like non-lethal will be very tough and take much longer and you'll miss the good old riot prod.
So far the videos don't go beyond the first aug mission, so they aren't probably much help either.
