Max it's the hangar in Omega ranch. It's not hard to find but the game tries to capture you away from it by leaving most helipads empty in the game, locking the door so you cant harm scientists then showing the awesome as fuck shuttle after Malik leaves.

What level hacking does it require?

PostPosted: Tue Aug 30, 11 4:03 pm
by James
5, allegedly. I'm going straight for it.

It requires 5 hacking, you only get two attempts. However it is far more intricate and complicated than any other level 5 one I've seen in the game. Rather than risk buggering it up I decided to just use a spare AUD I had on me.

Regarding Patient X, AJ and the quests regarding it; here's part of a theory that's been posted (not mine, but in my own words):

This has been posted around a lot, but people are saying that Adam Jensen's perfect genes were implanted in the babies MJ12 were testing on for The D Project. Cloning was still infantile but enough to splice embryos in the tube.

This seems likely about the whole patient X plot about Adam Jensen being perfect for augmentations:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
God from human Revolution

Clever, I know for a fact at least that is likely the reason why the title was named that. Even the first game's title was a pun on the canon ending by missing out Machina on purpose. Plus they could say it's a transhumanism title aswell for multi-purpose

The only problem is the question whenever White Helix/Versalife managed to salvage samples of Adam Jensen outside of the burning building. There's absolutely zero way they could have got any samples if they didn't get anything out before it burnt down. An interesting thing is that Mr Grey (Darrow), a member of the Illuminati was looking for Adam Jensen's files but I think it easily goes to say that Bob Page kept his Versalife experiments into nanoaugmentation/genetics private from the rest.

My opinion: I wish Paul was just another co-incidental perfect match like AJ. I like and find the idea of Paul not being a clone special compared to JC for natural vs artificial reasons regarding the differences between the brother's backgrounds and personality in the backstory and DX/DXIW itself.

Megan.

Megan can fly a helicopter?

Yes she can!
(It's not a helicopter btw?)

That's one thing that I don't understand about this game, how we went from the helicopter in this game, to Jocks LOL

oh for fuck sake Max.

disregard all tech in 2052 from dx1.

I will not.

Yes you will.

Regarding technology, the stuff we can see in 2027 is obtainable and much easier to predict with a 16-20 year difference (2011-2007). For example the augmentations you see in Human Revolution aren't much different than the ones we already have.

http://www.dxalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17460

Ion Storm had to predict -- technology, fashion, etc -- over 50 years, it amuses me a lot because it seems really unambitious, considering some of the tech in the game was outdated after a few years of its own release. I see it as the reverse of those crazy posters from the 60s that'll show you what the 80s or 90s will be like. Instead of having teleportation and living in small pods eating big varied meals formed from a 2cm³ box heated in the microwave for 30 seconds... we have analog/CRT TV and massive underground installations with... a couple of terrabye storage.

The differences between black helicopter and the VTOL can be explained; we've had helicopter VTOL vehicles in real life, it's only a matter of time before we get sophisticated harrier level thrust engines on these smallish vehicles proves more effective so copters are no longer relevant. DX's level of tech is dumb.

The only decent explanation would be that prop tech is more stealthy than jet engines

We have augmentations (non-combat) that look like the ones in the game right now, just need to make them better.

Done.

Worst level is the port level. Literally no challenge at all, just hacked one computer, took over one robot. Everyone dead.

What if you don't specialise in domination hacking?

PostPosted: Sat Sep 03, 11 11:26 pm

trouble is, by this point I've got pretty much all the augmentations I want. I've found the second playthrough far easier this time because I maxed out everything on hacking. If I need more praxis points I just hack EVERYTHING even like alarm panels, so its self perpetuating.

Not reading this yet, but UI failure sound effects (reloading!!!) are extremely annoying.

EDIT: oh least it stopped pretty fast.

There finished it. Happy with it overall, went with Taggart's ending just cause I didn't like Darrow's much, ideally I would have blown it up but like Max said I didn't want to kill AJ :<

I went with Sarif's ending because I like the way he pronounces "China".

...but I share Max's outlook. I didn't want Jensen to die.

-Fuck Taggart (who I shot in the head along with all his goons who I Typhooned the shit out of)
-Fuck Darrow

Sarif was pretty cool, and I love augmentation. So.... 8)

TO ADD...

I love how they didn't go into much detail with Pages cloning and such, and didn't explain the unknown origin of Adam (one of Page's clones?).

PostPosted: Mon Sep 05, 11 6:49 am
by James
First: There is no way Adam can be a clone
Second: The first clone (JC) is to be conceived soon after DXHR, and born in 2028
Third: Adam was a baby tested on by White Helix, a subsidiary of Versalife (not owned by Bob Page at this time) who proved to be "further evolved".

Speculation:

Will Belltower be dissolved into the complete command of The Illuminati?, their figureheads (The Tyrants Namir, Yelana and Barrett) are all dead. When I look at their colour scheme they scream MJ12 for me so I expect them to be the military units that join Page in 2031-2035.

Book spoilers:
Gunther, also a Tyrant, is not fit to be the commander because he is an idiot and a ruthless killing machine. He's also recovering from serious wounds from the events in the book.
That makes sense.

Isn't Paul older than JC though? :S
