Engrish to English

Postby alberttatlock » Sun Mar 04, 07 5:38 pm

Hi,
I have sent a mail to Daedalus via the website feedback, I would like to volunteer my services to help in the "Engrish to English" translation(s).

Let me know what,if anything, you want to know about me.

(The mail I sent to Daedalus was under my own email not the one I use on this board)

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi

Im stealing this guys topic

Because I also want to apply for the "translation"

Obviously you need someone to translate conversations, and I could probably have a crack at that

You know where to find me guys :D

I haven't received any e-mails and nothing in my spam box either :(

Thanks to those who applied. I'll contact you when the conversations will be translated from Russian to English. Be prepared not just to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes, but also rephrase some sentences for a more natural look.

The natural look is why I applied

To be honest i could translate documents and computer files as well, but they require a more refined style of english, and im good, but not 100% brilliant at that

I wouldn't say it's so easy. Translators will have to deal with an amount of text bigger than in the original game: a lot of books, datacubes, conversations. They will have to rephrase many sentences, so all that stuff would look natural to them and other native speakers.

I'd be happy to lend a hand, I just got mail from my school saying I was gifted/talented at English and Maths. That, and I'm on half term. With one and a bit weeks of school left afterwards! :D

I own at English. At school I always get a 1 out of 10 for my vocabulary and a 5 for my grammar, not to mention my 4.5 for the texts part. [joke]So hereby, I apply to translate.[/joke]

I've begun un-engrishing the cubes/emails/newspapers/books. I've got Mission 02, and only the first few of Mission 03 finished. I'll probably work on the rest of mission 03 tomorrow.

FYI: you can see if the file has been checked already if you look at the panel on the right. If the last message in the "Change log" window is not an "Initial import", then this file has been updated by someone already.
