Deus Ex Alpha

Hi all, I don't know if anyone remembers this but a year or so back I'm sure I saw that colombia were producing a Deus Ex movie, which would rock IMHO, and all I can find on it atm is http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95341 and this page which comes from those forums http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365118/ as you can see on there the status says unknown. Does anyone have any info on this?

It would be a cheesy make by the fucking media whom after playing the game had no idea what the game was about.

It is not possible to re-capture the true spirit of the game.

In my opinion, movie is a sort of degradation. Game gave an opportunity of choice (way of gameplay, style and so on) and this opportunity, i think, is like between the best qualities of Deus Ex single player. In movie you won't be able to choose anything, so

I would very much like to see how an augmented agent would move whilst using the likes of Speed etc.

I mean, imagine JC vs Gunther Hermann... both augmented, in the Paris Cathedral.

The actual arena of the cathedral was shockingly hard and cramped and neah!

What about Anna Nevarre.

Actually, think of this.

Castle Clinton.
Anna and JC wait outside.
They count to three, pull out their weapons.
Anna with an assault rifle, JC with a pistol in each hand.

Each agent breaks through the front foor, activates Speed, and runs round the inside of the perimeter wall, and in slow motion, the viewer sees each one of JC's and Anna's bullets meeting an NSF Terrorist.

A collage of souped up graphics of yeah that,
Gunther shooting at the chopper as it leaves the paris club,
JCD and simons fight,

and JCD taking out the manager dude at Versalife (that is easily my favourite scene from the game, its just the whole, "well you could take my boss out" and then u have to do it while not being spotted by peeps/camera, (which is actually quite easy!), but still concept was good)

oh and a complimentary JCD saying "GROOOOOO" while shooting his GEP

well it will kinda ruin the game abit, but i would certainly want to see it, jus to see what they can make out of it ^^

Heh, well I think many scenes would do well in cinematics, but not overboard, because it would, as others said, ruin the game atmopshere.

Heh, what about the atmospheric scenes in Paris.

JC jumps out of a manhole, takes out 2 mitilary bots, and some MJ12 troops.

By the time the Cops get to the scene of the crime, JC is gone:

man i donno about making this movie, cuz it's kinda risky. Deus Ex is so much in the future that the movie may turn out like a dick, cuz they wont know how to use the augs and shit without making it look like some freggin loser movie. I say they should make it, but if they do, make it at least bearable to watch.

Last time i heard any news about film it were 2 years ago, and before release of Spidermen I and II.

yea, there was speculation about this years back, it was given up on, though.

The plot is a game plot, not a movie.

It is far too intricate, complicated. windy, and has elements of ambiguity that no movie could capture.

Anyway, we all know who would act as JC!

Unknown on imdb is 99% cancelled.

The Game had too many routes to follow so its not possible to make a Deus Ex Film.

Routes yes, ending?, no.

It was the Helios ending that was the correct one.

Routes?, they'll just pick the most realistic or most outstaning, I don't see JC killing Harry Filben first time he sees him, HOWEVER, if the movie was 4 hours long it would work.

It wouldnt work at all. Full fucking stop.

The god damn film makers will have no chance of re-creating the games aura.

I've never seen that before, it was damn good. It reminds me of Sin City, also made JC look better character wise.

They wrote Invisible War in a way that all three endings could be accomodated.

JC killed Bob Page, then proceeded to merge with the Helios AI.
