Has anyone really even been as far as decided to want to do look more like?

So I want to finish my PC setup in my room for comfort gaming as well as PC gaming.

I had a DVI -> Scart cable a while ago but I gave it to my mum and now she won't give it back. That served fine for me to play FO3 on my TV but now I want to go further.

So, my questions

1) Should I get an all new sound setup for my TV (a standard-def widescreen TV, I'll upgrade sometime in February.) and if so what would I need to hook it up to my sound card?

2) Should I get a DVI -> Scart cable again? It worked fine before but I was wondering if I was losing significant amounts of quality through it.

3) Anything else I should know about?
