DOWNGRADING FROM THE TERRIBLE NEW MSN
If you haven't upgraded (ha!) from the old MSN, you can skip to the next part of the tutorial.
1) Uninstall your current MSN messenger through control panel, and restart your computer
2) Download and install msn version 14.0.8 from here (click on the blue "Download Windows Live Messenger" link)
3) Open it up, and login. Does it login? Good, time for the next step!
RE-ENABLE LINKS ON THE AWESOME OLD MSN
This requires a little HEX editing. Don't worry, it's perfectly safe, but it does require a certain (free) kind of program. If you have a HEX editor installed and are comfortable using it, feel free to use your own
1) Make sure you're not running MSN, exit it.
2) Download, unzip, and then run XVI32 from here
3) Click open, and browse to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe
4) Now click on Search, the Find you may need to tell it to look for text
4) Once that's open, click search, then Find. If the "Text string" radio button isn't selected, select it. type in hotlinks and click ok
5) The word "hotlinks" should now be selected on the right hand side of the window. Click on the h, and press the g key, so the word reads "gotlinks", without the quotes.
6) Click File, then Save. You can now close (and delete) the editor, and open up msn
7) Enjoy your clickable links!
